Species K9 Dog Training

I have 2 female corgi puppies and my household was feeling overwhelmed by their behavior. My mom especially, asked me to consider rehoming them. I was fortunate enough to find Species K9 and Jared. I reached out and scheduled a consultation with him. He was able to easily determine the issues and give me resources and strategies based in science that i could implement immediately. He told me by sticking to these methods I would see a different dog in 30 days. I have to say, I have 2 drastically different pups in only 5 days. These methods are simple and make sense. He also explained my dog's behavior based on their breed and helped me pinpoint what they need in order to relieve anxiety and feel relaxed and safe. Jared is always happy to answer questions and I cannot recommend Species K9 more highly. My pups are safe from needing a new home and we are all bonding as a forever family.

I have a very energetic and reactive Australian Shepherd, Toby, who made training very frustrating. After some research, I found Jared at Species K9 and he really knows how to make training fun and engaging, even with my dog being very timid around strangers. Within a few months, I could tell the biggest difference in how Toby responded to strangers, other dogs, and commands with me. It has made the world of a difference and I couldn’t recommend Jared more!!

We have had several sessions with Jared. He is very knowledgeable and very helpful. This type of training definitly works. We saw a ton of growth in our dog. I love that he is also teaching you how to be the trainer so your dog will listen to you. The principles and processes that he goes over have been backed by research. Overall our experience was fantastic. He really cares about the dogs and is always there if you have questions. Our dog was not a tough case but he also works with more complicated issues.

Jared was very reassuring and helpful with our immediate need with our new pup. Crate training and anxiety have been a challenging part of our journey with our new pup. So much so I had considered rehoming the new pup, wanting him to have the best peaceful life possible. After one session with Jared, our dog lays in his crate, feels more confident and we have a better understanding of his personality and needs because of his breed. I have been to many dog trainers in search of help for my aggressive girl, Bowie. She is very dominant and attempts to control anyone and anything entering my space, and no one has been able to help. Not the cookie trainers, not the ecollar jockeys, not the ex K9 handlers. Bowie either completely shut down or scared them away. Jared has been the only trainer to affect real change. He is incredibly knowledgeable, and spent nearly two hours in our initial consultation explaining why Bowie behaves the way she does, why Foundation Style Dog Training works, and how we were going to fix it. Through our training, we have worked on both obedience and leadership/dominance, showing Bowie she doesn't need to control everything and giving her the impulse control to make better choices. Bowie is always ecstatic to train and hasn't shut down once. She is showing huge signs of improvement and I haven't broken up a dog fight in nearly a month now. I can breathe easier in my own home. Most importantly though, Jared has shown me that I haven't failed Bowie. I have seen real progress and it gives me great hope. I would recommend Species K9 to anyone that knows they need REAL training for REAL problems.
