Before training, Kyro was extremely reactive on leash around other dogs. He’s such a great, active dog, and I knew he needed to learn how to be off leash so he could enjoy more freedom—it’s truly what he craves. Baz was the complete opposite: very shy and timid. He wouldn’t walk on busy streets, wouldn’t walk past men, and would shut down almost immediately. Today, they are both completely different dogs. They’ve gained so much confidence and freedom, and we take full advantage of it every day. Their recall is excellent, even around distractions, and they can enjoy life in ways they couldn’t before. I can’t thank Stephen enough for everything he taught us. It was an absolute pleasure working with him, and I would highly recommend Spot-On K9 Training to anyone looking to give their dog the skills and freedom to thrive.

I reached out to Stephen after failing to see any progress from a 2 week board and train and having a lot of trouble with pulling on walks. I decided on the off leash package and got amazing results! From the 1st class I was already able to walk with more ease and even have a coffee in my hand! We worked on mastering place and off leash recall as well. We are now able to go to off leash hours at Central Park so Luna can enjoy her freedom with other dogs. We are excited to go on our first off leash hike together this weekend and a beach trip soon! Spot-On K9 Training was super helpful. When we first started, my dog (Sunny) was quite reactive and difficult to walk around other dogs and distractions. After just five sessions, Sunny has improved tremendously and can now confidently walk on and off leash. Stephen made the entire process approachable and was flexible with rescheduling when necessary. I also appreciate all the suggestions for at-home exercises. I found SOK9T looking for a knowledgeable, experienced, and humane e-collar trainer. I have an active, nervous, and shy young rescue and wanted to build reliable recall and overall solid obedience off leash to safely enjoy life together. Well, the results exceeded my expectations! Nala now actively checks in with me whenever she’s off leash and generally chooses good behaviors proactively (e.g. staying reasonably close to me and not chewing on sticks excessively/dropping them when I tell her to without even needing the stim). She even prioritizes paying attention to me above other dogs, which would’ve been impossible off-leash before. And it’s so evident that she HAPPILY does all this. The way Stephen taught me to use the e-collar, it’s created a means of clear, failure-proof communication with my dog, where she knows what’s being asked from her and I can be confident she’ll be responsive. We couldn’t be more thankful! Stephen also gave me lots of useful tips to improve remaining challenges related to basic obedience and building confidence in a nervous and shy dog. As an added bonus, we’re now attending advanced group obedience classes for free, and Stephen has made himself available should any training questions arise in the future.
