Stand Proud Dog Training

Definitely a 10 stars out of 5. I NEVER give a high rating. Not that I am hard to please, but nothing is perfect. Despite this, Stand Proud trainers not only trained my pups, but my family. They darn near try to be perfect, even in terrible snowy weather. Communication has been stellar even when they are sick. I have a very large, and anxious German Shepard who was scaring everyone and never stopped barking. Due to his anxiety he is very reactive, due to his size (HUGE head) he can and did do some damage to my other dogs. Big man went away for "Board and Train" for 2 weeks." We had training when we picked him up, and for many weeks after that someone came to my home in Carson City. The "Board and Train" was in Fernley. My big man was a much calmer and less reactive dog. In very little time he was responding to voice commands, being able to walk, can now be around other dogs without barking and reacting. It is amazing. This dog saved my life, and now he is the best dog ever. It's like he found his purpose and has no confusion on how to be. I have a labordoodle, she is also very anxious. Currently she is 11 months old. We have tried all the training techniques, clicker, food, crate, e-collar and pincher collar and nothing seemed to stop her anxious tearing up of stuff: my daughters toys, trash cans, dirty socks and underwear and digging holes in the yard! She was even peeing on the rugs and laundry! A different kind of anxious. Since she is easier to control and normal size we decided to start with Stand Proud obedience training for her. At 9 months old and on her first training session she began to sit for us. She is not food driven, so we needed help figuring out what worked for her. After her 3rd session she no longer tears up our stuff, laundry is left alone, no more peeing on stuff and no more digging. We did not even work on those specific issues, but the way they helped to train her and us worked on all aspects of her life. My life, my home and my family are better and happier because of Danielle, Brandon, Ian, Abby and Austin (Debbie too). Our dogs now have a happy life and the chaos level is now a 3 instead of a 10. I highly highly recommend these guys for you and your fur babies. There are some dogs that need a unique approach and Brandon has figured that out, his staff follow suit. Truly amazing!!!

Stand Proud is hands down the best of the best. From their team to the lasting effects that their passion, love and understanding of canine behavior delivers. I adopted Jack through a line of sketchy owners unable to handle him. With their continued help in training Jack (and myself) after the program, he has transformed into the goofy and loving dog I knew he was. I have since moved out of Reno where they are located, but continue to make the 2 hour commute to use their boarding services because I don’t think I will find another company that I trust with Jack as much as them!

Stand proud is by far the best dog training place we have used. Our female German Shepherd, River, is leash reactive and they have helped us immensely! I feel like I know what to do to keep her improving now, how to handle any situations, and I also love going to their facility to help push her limits in a healthy way. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone. She did the 2 week board & train, and then the follow up lessons have taught us how to translate her gains to home! She's a MUCH better behaved dog now & it's so nice to walk her knowing what to do!

My husband and I had tried a different trainer for our Labradoodle puppy Elliot but it just left our puppy scared of the trainer and is frustrated. When I called and spoke to Danielle at Stand Proud she gave me so much information and let me know that her husband Brandon would be able to train our puppy at his new facility in Fernley where he and his family lives! I was a little nervous sending our puppy away for 2 weeks and not seeing him but Danielle but me at ease answering all my texts before, during and still after, even with a newborn baby on her arm! When we picked up our puppy Brandon showed us everything he trained him on and we could not believe the positive change in our puppy! Brandon sent someone to our house for a follow up so we could ask questions and get helpful tips for home. We have since used Standproud for daycare for our puppy at least once a week, although Ian begs us for more days because he loves our now 2 year old puppy dog Elliot! The feeling is mutual and we use them for boarding too. It is so nice to have such ongoing support and to be able to drop off and pick up a super excited puppy dog!
