I highly recommend Stand Proud for training and boarding. They provide consistent and reliable training based on common sense and straightforward results. The staff is dependable, friendly, and clearly cares about the animals. There is someone on staff at the kennel 24/7 to ensure safety and that everything runs smoothly. My 10 year old pit bull mix had never been formally trained or stayed at a kennel. Brandon provided the necessary training (for me and my dog) to help us make a major transition from a rural to an urban environment. My dog goes to Stand Proud day care and has stayed twice now at the kennel with the exact same results; he leaves exactly as he arrived, happy and relaxed. NO behavior issues, fear, or stress. My dog, Bodie, used to play great with other dogs before she was attacked by an aggressive dog. She became more and more scared of other dogs and anxious in general to the point where walks were stressful for both of us and she was becoming aggressive herself. Stand Proud gave me back my fun loving and happy puppy. Their continued help and support after board and train has been amazing and I know I never have to worry about being without help again.

We adopted a troubled doodle and her sibling from a friend of the family who could not handle her 4 years ago. I did significant work researching training theories and working through what I could with her, but at the end of the day I knew she needed a professional. We did some private lessons with Brandon which took her from insecure and fearfully aggressive to confident and well adjusted. Ginger could not go to the vet or the groomer because her fear was so visceral. Brandon helped us find vets and groomers who would work patiently with her and attended her appointments to ensure things went smoothly. Ginger has now been removed from the aggressive dog list at the vet and goes to the groomer without issue! He has also helped us manage the relationship with her brother as well and is always willing to answer questions about him. These dogs get to be their wildest, happiest selves because of the work Stand Proud has done with us. A few years later and Brandon still helps us with nail trims and general questions about her behavior, Danielle always responds quickly, and they consistently show us that their number 1 priority will always be the wellbeing and happiness of my dogs. There isn’t another trainer in this area that can provide and care for your dogs the way that Stand Proud will.

We adopted a rescue puppy (Cisco) last fall who required significant training, exercise & socialization skills. It had been a long time since we had a puppy & knew we needed experts to assist in his training. I met with a few places (wasn’t impressed) and then received a recommendation from a coworker—Stand Proud Dog Training!! After our experience, I CAN NOT imagine utilizing another dog training company!! He provided me with Danielle’s cell number (after he conferred with her- she is one of the business owners) and told me to give her a call. I left a message and within an hour she called me back (where does that happen in this day & age!!). Danielle spoke with me for half an hour discussing the best options for Cisco. Danielle listened, was compassionate and explained in detail what the board/train program entailed- she put our minds at ease, and it was a no-brainer that this is what was best for Cisco. Danielle scheduled us to meet with Brandon (her husband, another owner of the company) later that week (again, when does this happen in this day & age!!) for an in-person evaluation. We all agreed that a board & train program was exactly what Cisco needed. We dropped off Cisco two weeks later at their Fernley Board/Train facility. It was hard to drop Cisco off for a month after he lived with a rescue outfit for months, but my wife and I knew he was in GREAT hands. During his month in Fernley, we received weekly updates- detailed progress reports, photos and videos. While Cisco was at the board/train, Danielle provided us with homework, tips and reading material to assist us with implementing what he’ll learn upon his return to our home. After the completion of his training, we were asked to visit for a lesson with Cisco & one of the trainers, Ian. He is TOP NOTCH!!! We both couldn’t believe Cisco’s transformation!! Ian walked us through commands, expectations for Cisco & what he had learned during his time with him. We can’t express enough as to how impressed we were with Ian’s professionalism, demeanor, answering questions and teaching us how we should continue Cisco’s training at home. The board/train program includes private lessons which were extremely beneficial! We took Cisco to Home Depot, the park and our home, just to name a few. Big shout out to Abby!! We’ve continued to follow the training program at home and implement what he’s learned and just as importantly what we’ve learned! The knowledge obtained will last a lifetime and we’re beyond grateful for Stand Proud. We realized with our work schedule that Cisco required more exercise, play time and stimulation throughout the week. After reaching out to Danielle, we learned that they have a structured daycare offered seven days a week. We are currently taking him on Tuesdays and Wednesdays --- I can’t express how much he enjoys his days with Alanea & Andrew at daycare!! Cisco wags his tail, wiggles his rear end and sometimes gives her kisses at drop off!! He couldn’t be happier!! Through their website platform, we receive photos & videos of Cisco having a blast during every visit; such a great idea and we love it!! Cisco now LOVES to visit our neighborhood park, where he plays with 12-14 dogs multiple days a week. He receives daily compliments on his demeanor, confidence & loving nature. Cisco’s love for the park is a far cry from his first walk, prior to board/train (where he was nervous, anxious and extremely defensive). Cisco now understands that most dogs are friendly, and he just wants to play! He has developed numerous relationships with his pals at the park and gets SO EXCITED to see them!! Cisco is now included in our everyday life, trips to the store, errands etc. We have never met such an amazing group of folks that collectively bring their business to an extraordinary level throughout their entire staff. We’re thrilled that we found Stand Proud and recommend them to all our friends & colleagues. We recently got a new pup who was being rehomed through no fault of his own once he completed doggy boot camp with Stand Proud. To say they are some of the most amazing individuals would be an understatement. If you are having trouble with your dog, want help with basic training, or just want someone to give yoru dog a strong foundation these are the people you need to call. Judah is the best bahaved dog I have ever met. They have helped us seemlessly integrate him in to our family. The follow up trainings are an absolute blessing. We are able to make sure that we are doing everything right, we can add small things and adjust as necessary to make his training fit our lifestyles. I am so excited for the next few sessions we will be taking him in public and working on his manners so that he can travel with us. Brandon and Danielle have an amazing team behind them and we will be taking all of our future dogs to them!
