STK9 Training Company

Our dog Buster just graduated from bordering training and what a difference! Before he pulled so much and jumping I couldn't even walk him for fear of getting pulled down. Now it's enjoyable coming home from work and not getting jumped on and being able to take him for a walk with out him pulling. I can't say enough about STK-9, DJ, and the rest of the staff. Buster absolutely loves going there for doggie daycare also. You can see how much they care for the pets and family. I am thankful for all they have done for us.

I absolutely love everything about STK9. Everyone is so kind and compassionate about the work they do and the pups they help. My 3yo corgi had some anger/boundary issues that we needed help so we could both communicate. Not only did the team at STK9 help facilitate that understanding for my pup and I, they kept me updated the entire time. I knew what he was excelling at and where he needed a little more time to work on things. When it was time to come home, Samantha (who had been working with my pup) brought him home and took the time to teach me everything. I did not feel rushed or dumb when I asked questions. I also feel confident knowing that when I reach out with questions they will actually get back to me. I cannot recommend a better facility and staff. I love everything about the process, I love the staff and I love the kennel. I felt my pup was safe and cared for the entire time. 10/10 ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND STK9 and the Pasadena Pet Motel. We’ve been taking our dog to the trainer, Matt, since he was a puppy straight out of obedience school. He has our dogs best interest in mind and is very professional with him. We come to him once a week and he is always on time and ready to start. He is reasonably flexible and has stayed consistent since the start. You can tell he is educated in what he does and shares lots of helpful tips for us that we actually use for how we can help him from home beyond the training. Our dog is now doing sends and has progressed phenomenally!

Original Review: "Understaffed, don't seem to have any availability for training." Updated Review: After seeing the owners response I called back about availability as directed in their "owners response" below. I owe it to the company to clarify they MAY have availability for certain types of training but they don't have availability for K9 Protection Training. I'm not aware of their availability for basic obedience work as I didn't ask because that's not the type of work I need for my dog who is already trained in obedience. I need higher level training and preparation for Protection Sports. Specifically a training decoy for the PSA certification. She informed me that she only has one person on her team who provides that sort of training and he's all booked up, but that I could be put on a wait list (and she doesn't know when there will be availability only that I would but number 4 on the list). To her credit she was kind even though she felt hurt by the review as she believes it will hurt her company and she provided the names of two schutzhund clubs that may have decoys: spacecoast schutzund and Highway Schutzund - which both have a facebook account that haven't been active since 2016 Because she did get back to me and she was kind about her frustration I increased her rating to two stars. Unfortunately they still weren't able to provide the personal protection services they advertised and this was due to a lack of personnel as I stated originally and for this reason they still only receive two stars from me. Now other people may see this as a measure of their quality (They don't take on more clients than they know they can train effectively) which I can understand, but since I've not been able to see the quality of their training I can't vouch for it. No hard feelings on my end. I hope your business continues to thrive as we clearly need more folks who can do protection work in the area.
