Stronghaus Dog Training Center

I brought TJ, my one-year old GSD to Chris at Stronghaus for a two-week training session this summer. TJ is a very high drive GSD, who was beginning to show the signs of dog aggression while on the leash. TJ was obedient to me, when he felt like it (basically 0 distractions), but would not walk on the leash without leading the way, and pulling the entire time. The progress that Chris had made with TJ is nothing short of amazing. This dog now walks with a near perfect "heel" his collar barely passing the centerline of my left leg. The dog that used to rip the leash from my arm, walks with a slack leash that I simply lay in my hand. "Sit, down, and place" are all wonderful commands (especially place), that have great usage within the home. We have been practicing "place" while eating dinner in front of the dog, it just amazing to see the dog stay in his place, and not stick a nose in your plate. The dog is not going to come back absolutely perfect, you need to take what Chris has started, and keep building on his training. We were out amongst other dogs yesterday, and there was a bark or two, but nothing like I used to see when we crossed paths with another dog. I simply remind TJ that he is in the "heel" position, and we go back to what we were doing. This is what I believe is the most valuable trait your dog will learn from Chris, "heel." Once your dog has this, and he recognizes you as the leader, the rest is manageable. I had tried a few other trainers and classes, with not much success. You are going to know right away if your dog needs a board and train program, don't hesitate, and don't throw a lot of money away with these other classes. I am looking forward to working with TJ, and building on the obedience foundation that Chris has started. Thank you Chris and Nancy for everything!

We just finished our training at Stronghaus this past Saturday and I’m so glad we went there. Chris at Stronghaus did an amazing job with our our girl and he was a pleasure to work with! Chris took the time to explain his methods to us so we could continue working with Maggie at home to reinforce what we learned each week. We signed our Maggie up for the (5) one hour personal training sessions. He devoted one hour of his time each week to us and the lessons were at a time that was convenient for us. I’ve taken other pups to “group” training sessions and while they’re ok, the private lessons were the way to go. He worked one on one with her and he helped her face her fears and overcome them. I highly recommend Stronghaus and Chris Carr!

Chris Carr is an unbelievable trainer! I sent my dog to him for 2 week training program and after a week I went to see her progress and WOW...she is a totally different dog! She didn't get along with other dogs, she always pulled me on walks and was always to hyper but just after a week at stronghaus training center now she walks right along side of you, gets along with other dogs and he even threw balls all around my dog and she didn't even move to try and get a ball! Chris is a great, friendly guy and definitely knows how to train a dog! 9/10 of dogs need to be trained and this is where you need to send your dog! I can't wait to see how my dog is after the 2nd week of her training is done! I highly recommend stronghaus training center and I will tell everyone how great of a place it is! Thanks Chris for turning my dog into a well behaved dog!

Chris is an amazing trainer and helped our dog bella become the best dog she can be. When I met Chris, I told him that no other trainer wanted to help us with bella because she was a "special case". Bella had aggression issues with other dogs and had become very frightened around strangers, and because she was a pit bull, she was turned away by other trainers. Chris pinpointed the root of Bella's issues and worked diligently to correct them. Thanks Chris, you are a lifesaver. Jaron and Morgan
