Strutt Your Mutt

We have a rescue border collie. After trying two dog trainers with no improvement, Strutt Your Mutt was recommended to us. The change in our dog has been impressive. She was quite aggressive with people and dogs when we first got her. She was also quite hyper. She wanted to be in charge of us instead of the other way around. Erika helped us solve that problem. She now gets along with all humans, is very calm and tolerates other dogs much better. When boarding her with Erika and her staff, she always comes home happy and calm. We would not leave her with anyone else.

Our rescue dog was the most handsome dog that we had ever seen but he was a mess. His anxiety was through the roof and he nipped at us and the kids. He went through some training with another local business but it was all reward/food based and he wouldn't do anything without the treat at the end. Right after we had called Strutt Your Mutt to ask about pricing and how the training worked, he was hit by a car. We knew we had to do something or risk him being hit again or going out of our minds with his hyperactivity. Erika taught us so much about his behaviors and about how we have to be engaged to make it work. We did the board and train and he came back a new dog at the end of two weeks and he has become more manageable as we work with him to fine tune and keep him minding us. Erika and Strutt Your Mutt saved us. My little Lexie (chihuahua mix) and I had no idea how to communicate with each other. She came to me from Roice Hurst, when she was one year of age. A delightful little girl who had HUGE anxieties - BARKING - even escaping from her leash and chasing dogs down the street. Walks were not pleasant. That was just one huge issue. Erika was recommended to me from more than one friend. I am so grateful that I brought Erika into our lives. She taught me how to communicate with Lexie and also how to read her emotions. Lexie and I learned so much from Erika and we (both of us!!!) are so much happier! I had no idea what the anxieties were doing to Lexie. Today she is a calmer and happier little girl ~ and I so enjoy our walks ~ no stress for either of us. It is all about learning how to communicate. I'm so grateful for Erika and her staff. I learned of Strutt Your Mutt LLC from my vet. Kuma (black golden-doodle) had just come to live with me from my brother's in-laws who had moved into a city assisted living. Kuma was (and is) a good dog but not a great walker on a leash. So, I contacted Ericka. Best contact made - maybe ever!! Ericka trained ME to be a calm and assertive leader for my sweet girl, Kuma. She taught me how to walk her on a leash. Ericka also fell in love with Kuma and became my go-to person anytime I needed to leave Kuma in GJ while traveling. The anxieties Kuma had when she came to live with me were calmed and practically disappeared from Ericka's calm training as well as her training me to be similarly calm. Kuma still is not fond of riding in a car; however, she does not tremble through her time there. Kuma no longer trembles for hours then there is thunder near by. Kuma has been with me for half of her life. She is as sweet as ever she was, but she is also a very solid, sound dog with few anxieties. She is kind to every human she meets. She is calm and friendly to dogs who she is permitted to meet. She is simply a great dog. She has become a great dog because of Ericka and Strutt Your Mutt LLC. I have never hesitated to recommend the business to anyone who wishes to have the best dog and the best relationship with his/her/their dog possible. SYM is SIMPLY THE BEST.
