If you are looking for a labrador and you're hoping to have some basic training, this is your last stop. Sheryl and her crew REALLY understand dog psychology and know what they are doing. I cannot speak more highly of the quality of training and care that the pups from Sundance receive. Not to mention the quality of the sires and dams. We selected a female companion dog - we wanted a puppy but we wanted her to have some good basic training. Our Maggie is an amazingly loving, bright and funtastic pup. She knows all the basic commands and has amazing recall which is the MOST important for us living in a crowded city. You MUST follow Shery's instructions and training model - if you do, you'll have a well trained doggie and an easier time. You get pictures of your pup about once a week or every two weeks, depending upon the stage of your pup. Sundance is very busy training your dog! If that's not enough, you can buy more along the way, but the most important thing is she is being cared for and trained. The biggest bonus for us is after you take home your dog and you're having trouble with them - you can call Sheryl!! Every time we've struggled with something, she's been responsive and once I do what Sheryl tells me to do, Maggie does what she's supposed to do. This was an unexpected bonus and it's made all the difference. Get a doggie from Sundance today! (One more thing - Maggie is already the best dog that Sheryl has ever bred, but there's a slight possibility I'm biased)

We may not have enough glowing words to describe our dealings with Sundance Retrievers, Sheryl and her team! From the very first phone call, Sheryl was so helpful, full of valuable information, and very focused on helping us find the right pup. She loves her work, has extensive experience and expertise, and it shows. Her match making with us and our Willow was spot on. The training the team provided throughout the 6 months was very effective and remains so, two weeks into Willow arriving at our home. Of course, its up to us, the owners to keep it up! We took the course of visiting Willow twice over two weekends during the 6 months. So glad we did. They were very accommodating throughout. Stayed at the Edinboro Lake Resort cabins - highly recommend. Our first Vet visit last week was a huge success. They were very impressed with the organized and thorough set of documents that went through vaccinations, pedigree, etc. etc. The Vet said she was a stunning animal and healthy as could be, in all aspects. Since bringing her home, we have contacted Sheryl 3 times with questions and directions on training. She gladly responded immediately with the exact helpful information. Sheryl is very serious about accompanying the owners through these growing months! Of course it takes a team, and Sundance's team of 4 trainers were just wonderful. The field trips, socialization events, and extensive training were all fully evident the day we brought her home. Our neighborhood's others dog owners are quite jealous already. Yes, acquiring a pup/new member of the family is not an inexpensive proposition with Sundance. That said, we have found the cost to be completely worth it and glad we made the choice to work with them. I am not prone to go on like this in reviews, but in this wonderful case, the words just keep flowing. Sundance Retrievers, Sheryl, and the team, deserve all the accolades. We and our dear Willow, thank you all!

I picked up Bear (my pup) a couple days ago after he completed his companion training. I’ve only had him for a few days but I can safely say he’s the greatest dog I’ve ever been around (I might be bias because he’s my good boy). Other than how perfect he is, the process as a whole was incredible. Sheryl and her team went above and beyond to help make sure I had a great match with a lab that would fit my lifestyle and needs. They also were incredible in training and provided communication throughout the process. Between having my own personal journal they would fill out information on his progress or even just swiftly answering a text/call regarding his status. If you like labs, or dogs, I couldn’t suggest a better place to get your future pup!

Sundance Retrievers and Sheryl are truly exceptional. We are were looking for a dog for our son who began grad school half way across the county in Texas. Sheryl worked with us to identify a friendly, happy, smart, playful / active dog who also has an off switch. She immediately recommended one of her puppies who was 8 months old at the time and we later named Cooper. We thought he was a great pick but also asked her thoughts about some of her other dogs. She did not hesitate to say that she thought they would be fine but might not be the perfect fit. We went with her recommendation and are absolutely thrilled! Cooper is everything we were looking for a more. We received him after he completed his Advanced Companion Training and he follows all his commands and is super smart, lovable, friendly, and cuddly. He gets along very well with other dogs and he continues to learn extremely quickly...you never have to teach him something twice. My wife, two other sons, and I visited Texas for Thanksgiving and took Cooper with us to play mini-golf. He watched intently and I'm sure he would have loved to fetch the balls for us. When we got back to the house, Cooper proceeded to get his tennis ball and place it in his dog bowls and then take the ball out and kick / throw it with his mouth. He would then retrieve the ball and place it in on of his bowls. It was almost as if he was having his own game of mini-golf. Thank you Sheryl for helping us find the perfect dog for our son! We are so appreciative of the great work you do with these dogs and could not be happier with Cooper.

Now that today is 15 days into the bring home guide. I feel I can give the review that Sundance deserves as Marley and I have built an amazing bond within the first 10 days. I was careful to follow the guide even through the thanksgiving holiday. I gave a five star review based on the responsiveness of Sheryl and the base of Marley’s training I am happy to report that Marley’s training is amazing and he does everything an advanced companion is advertised to do. In addition he has a base that can be used to add training. It may sound small but he’s already jumping in my truck and placing in the floor behind me. He knows exactly where his places are ( outside business, food , water, sleep and kennel. Sheryl was available any time I had questions about what I was doing wrong and we quickly remedied my commands Marley is very gentle with my toddler she my nephews. He’s very gentle with me as I am handicap and walk with a cane. I ask Sheryl to run with a cane so he was aware of what it was and it shows. He sends to think it’s apart of me and respects it in that way. I couldn’t say enough positive praise for him and his training
