FirstBarkWe just finished Basic Obedience with Nancy and are starting Intermediate Obedience on Monday. Nancy is a fabulous instructor! Her years of experience show and she has a very nice way of teaching the skills to handlers of all levels. I look forward to taking more classes at Tails Up with my Dane!!!

My puppy is 7 months. Well socialized but does not listen to any commands. Can you help?

You would really want to sign up for the beginning obedience class at the Tails Up Dog Training. This is an essential class for the dog to learn all basic obedience commands. The class is eight weeks long and it's much needed for both - the dog and the owner. It helped us a lot! As far as I know, the beginning obedience classes are filled up pretty quickly, so you may want to call their office to check for the available start dates or put your name on the waiting list.

Do you offer classes for training therapy dogs? Dante is signed up for the Canine Good Citizen class coming up this Thursday. I am hopeful that he passes that so I am looking for training for therapy dogs. Thank you.
The Tails Up Dog Training does offer therapy dogs classes. You will have to check with the staff to see when the next class is scheduled. Have fun with Dante in the CGC class!

I was able to turn my crazed raptor into an energetic horse with just this beginner class. I have a vizsla, so very high energy. With just this one beginner class, she listens so much better, doesn’t pull on walk’s, has stopped barking at inappropriate times, and can remain calm around other dogs and people. Rose was a very good instructor. She helped with any behavioral questions I had (barking for example) after class and she was really good with helping owners struggling to get their pups to do what they needed.
a+. took the beginner class with my 7 month old belgian malinois. trainer did a great job managing the class. lots of one on one and group time. shared tips and tricks that really helped. they really care.
If you love your dog, Tails Up dog training is a must do. I have bred and shown 50 years and still learn something new every obedience class.Pat is a superior instructor and fun and very helpful. She has clear directions and is very knowledgable! This is the place to go to have a well trained dog!!!!!

Yesterday our 1 year old bloodhound named Clementine graduated 🎓 from beginner obedience class with Rose as the instructor. Clementine has come a long way in 8 weeks. I was afraid we were going to get kicked out on day 1 of class lol. Originally she couldn't really be around other dogs as she would bark and lunge at every dog while taking her for a walk. She even got in a big dog fight about 4 days prior to starting our first class. She is 83 lbs and super strong so she was even difficult for my husband to control on a leash as she would drag us down the street. So I was very nervous to bring her to a group setting. But the instructors know that not ever dog plays well with others so they ensure everyone keeps their dogs separated to reduce fighting. This has helped my dog relax around other dogs, but still get the socialization she needs. Now she is able to be right next to other other dogs in class and she doesn't even care how close they are to her. It is a night and day difference in class. Now she is signed up for intermediate obedience class in September.
