Tails Up Dog Training

Really love the instructors and the culture here. We adopted a young Staffy and wanted to make sure he was well trained and socialized. While he's not perfect, he LOVES class and we learn so much. There's a diverse group of dogs (big and small) and our pittie fits in great. He's taken the first three sets of classes and everyone is always impressed when they learn how young he is compared to his training. Training in a group allows the owners the opportunity to work with their dogs in a different environment and while around other dogs, vs training alone. In addition, you get plenty of one on one time with the instructors to work on your weaknesses and ask questions. Plus, I always say hanging out with all the other dogs is worth the price of admission alone! I found the classes to be super affordable regardless. Tails Up gives our dog the opportunity to channel his playful energy. All the dogs have things that they are better and not as good at, so there's really no pressure or ego from the owners and instructors (in my experience), but you can really see the progress in each dog. It's all about what the owner puts in, and Tails Up does a good job of engaging the owners as well as the dogs. I've met several people in our classes who have taken more than one dog to Tails Up, and I really look forward to continuing taking our pup there as well. That really says everything I need to know about how good they are at what they do. And that's all without mentioning the accomplishments of the instructors themselves, who I understand have trained national champions in obedience.

I highly recommend taking a course here with your dog. I have been taking my Shihpoo puppy here for two training courses now. The instructors are great. The class sizes are small so they actually pay attention to how each dog behaves. They are happy to answer any questions you might have or difficulties you are experiencing with your specific dog. I think their puppy kindergarten course is particularly great for puppies as they have different confidence building activities that you do together that help your pup have less anxiety in strange environments. I was recommended these trainers by a friend who previously trained K9 units.
