The Art of Dogs

The Art of Dogs is an incredible training facility that individualizes training plans towards your specific goals with your dog. I was referred to Anneliese after my previous trainer moved in which he cited “she’s the best in the country”. While I was nervous to switch trainers and work with the team at Art of Dogs, I couldn’t be any happier. Anneliese took the time to understand the psychology and background of my dog and pivoted training based on his needs, rather than a cookie cutter approach. While we’ve worked through issues successfully, my dog, Hunter, is now at a point where he is excited to see both Anneliese and Rachael as he knows he will have a wonderful experience. The bond they’ve formed with my dog along with the help they’ve provided makes me so happy. I cannot recommend The Art of Dogs enough!

We are obsessed with Anneliese and the Art of Dogs! We easily trained our first golden retriever and thought our second dog would be a breeze. Well, she humbled us quickly! Anneliese took Rosie in for two weeks of board and train and we were so happy with the dog we picked up at the end. Rosie went from barking in her crate all night, and being inconsolable when left alone; to sleeping the night straight through and just overall being much more at ease in life and responsive to training Anneliese also was flexible with scheduling and moved dates around to accommodate the early arrival of our daughter, which will forever be appreciated. We so look forward to working more with Anneliese and her company in the coming years to understand even more about our furry besties!

We love the Art of Dogs! We sent our rescue to their training program when she was a puppy and we've been using them for boarding services ever since. They did a great job helping us master basic commands, leash training, aggressive tendencies and crate training. Our favorite part is that pups are boarded in the comfort of a trainer's home, rather than in a kennel, which gives us immense peace of mind. The Art of Dogs takes a humane and educated approach to dog training, and we feel lucky to learn from them. Our pup comes home happy every time!

Wonderful place. My girlfriend and I had our 4 month old puppy, Sally, go through their 2-week-long board and train program, and she came back with much improvement and many additional skills. This was not from a lack of trying on our part. We had Sally for 7 weeks prior to reaching out to The Art of Dogs. We did the research, got the toys and treats, spoke to pet shops, and we even listened to dog podcasts, but Sally was regressing. As the weeks went on she was slowly getting more and more difficult. We wanted to do everything right by Sally and put her first in all our planning. We tried several different dog-sitting apps, and with the second After spending the next 4-5 hours going back and forth to the pet store that night we both humbly agreed that we did not know what was best for Sally and needed to look for a professional. We were initially skeptical of dog trainers and daycare centers. However, myy girlfriend and I could not have been more pleased. This is what we got from the 2 weeks of board and train. A complete 180: Sally before would become very energetic to the point of losing self-control, jumping and nipping at you, and she would bark and just completely lose it in the excitement, disregarding our commands. We got back a dog that would: sit and not move until released, wait to greet someone, and stay by your side in a walk and one that would go to their bed happily. We had several in-person sessions along with many telephone and email conversations where Annelise, the owner, and our trainer, Rachael,both gave us clear explanation of what they did, what we needed to do, and how to apply these procedures and skills in our home environment. They went as far as recommending to us things such as proper leashes, harnessess, and food that benefitted Sally. We still, even after the 2 weeks, have the means to contact The Art of Dogs with questions or concerns we have with great and targeted advice for Sally. ***We could not recommend enough***
