The Canine Center

I've used both personal training sessions here with my rescue dog and more recently did the Building Confidence Class. Both are excellent but the Building Confidence class was such a great and affordable training option for our boy. Also, being able to be there with multiple handlers really helped get our household on the same page about how best to train. We've seen improvement in his anxiety with the plethora of tips that came with class. It can be a slow process but you gotta stick with it! Def recommend the classes for an effective and affordable training regimen.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place. I hope no offense is taken as I am not used to making poor reviews. We really tried to like this place. We purchased many lessons and private lessons. Despite their best efforts I assume- no progress was done on my dogs after each visit. We learned a few tricks (maybe two) but that’s about it. The staff is lovely but something is off about management. The scheduling was always last minute and though we always left the place with hope that our doggies would get better but no progress was made after maybe 15+ private lessons? After spending so much money we decided to part ways. Perhaps this place just isn’t for our dogs and that’s fine but it could’ve been avoided perhaps had they just told us our dogs were too much for them? In their slight defense we came with littermates and were advised that it would be difficult but not impossible, i mean of course! Still, MANY classes later I’d assume SOME progress would be made after leaving my pups with them. Sadly, no. I wish this place all the luck though. In response to the Canine Center response: I appreciate y’all responding for clarification but what you responded is not true. My dogs were in behavioral classes, of which we did over 15+ classes in addition to training at home. Our dogs did not improve. I think your approach for training is just not suitable for EVERY dog and that’s okay. The training we received cost us over 1k and still no results were made. We were limited with our dogs being exposed as we expected them to improve with their social skills with you guys. We did not get any guidance from your classes besides a small report saying “they did better today.” So it truly wasn’t that helpful. And they were VERY young, so we missed their prime learning stages due to not taking them to another place more suitable for them. I’m not saying you guys are terrible, I just don’t think you’re for all dogs.

Wonderful training facility. We took the 6 week adult basics class and are now taking the multi week canine good citizens class and are so glad we going the Canine Center. We've noticed such a change for the better in the dog we rescued and feel like we have the tools to help her succeed. The trainers are experts in working with different personalities of dogs so lessons are parsed with personalized advice on specifics issues we're trying to work on. We've really enjoyed investing in our relationship with our pup and learning the way she thinks. I highly recommend the Canine Center to anyone looking to work with their dog. Ask about their rescue discount!
