"Training with Compassion"
We use clicker training using 100 percent force free methods. We teach classes, private lessons and day school. Group classes run through puppy, beginner, intermediate, CGC/therapy and limited service dog training. We also consult with clients on behaviors such as jumping up, pulling leash, reactivity, resource guarding, fear-based behaviors, potty training, recall, and many other behaviors. We pride ourselves on being members of The Pet Professional Guild, The Association of Force Free Trainers. Instructors are required to be certified through The Certification Council for Professional Trainers (CPDT-KA). The use of shock, e-collar, prong, choke collars is NEVER USED by our trainers or at our facilities.

Could not possibly say enough great things about Capable Canine. I decided to bring my rescue pup in for basic training and behavioral therapy, within just one session I knew I hired the right person. Jessica is patient, kind, professional and unbelievably knowledgeable in her craft. Sammie (puppy) after just over a few weeks of training is showing major improvement in her confidence, walks are becoming easier and most behaviors that were concerning are diminishing quickly.

We recently finished up puppy class at the Capable Canine with Jessica and so happy we chose this positive reinforcement program for our puppy’s training. The group classes were small and Jessica was incredibly attentive to each dog and their/their owners’ individual challenges and goals. It was a great experience and an exceptional value… looking forward to continuing training there.

Jessica is wonderful, patient, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her services. I had just moved to Maine with my 8 year old Jack Russell, Jake. Jessica gave us the right tools and techniques to best acclimate Jake to his new environment, as well as battle a bit of resource guarding he was beginning to develop. Jessica is so incredibly kind and patient. She’s been a joy to work with both one-on-one with my dogs and in her group/ puppy training courses. They’ve dynamic, with lots of props and very cute “graduation” celebrations!
