FirstBarkJessica is a skilled animal behaviorist and trainer. She is patient, and highly responsive. She provided the tools we needed to get past our training challenges often getting us to try new approaches. Love that she mentors aspiring animal behaviorists! We’ve been to 3 classes so far and plan to continue so our pup can visit healthcare facilities.

About The Capable Canine
"Training with Compassion" We use clicker training using 100 percent force free methods. We teach classes, private lessons and day school. Group classes run through puppy, beginner, intermediate, CGC/therapy and limited service dog training. We also consult with clients on behaviors such as jumping up, pulling leash, reactivity, resource guarding, fear-based behaviors, potty training, recall, and many other behaviors. We pride ourselves on being members of The Pet Professional Guild, The Association of Force Free Trainers. Instructors are required to be certified through The Certification Council for Professional Trainers (CPDT-KA). The use of shock, e-collar, prong, choke collars is NEVER USED by our trainers or at our facilities.

The owner Jessica is an incredible person and a wealth of knowledge she unlike other trainers doesn't belive in shock collars, or flooding. She is all about positive reinforcement and getting you to understand your dog's body language and their boundaries. Our dogs name is lily she's an incredible dog, that was clearly never showed any love when we adopted her it became clear very quickly that she was incredibly fear based aggressive she didn't trust strangers at all. With Jessica's help she showed us some great ways to get her to believe in not only us but her self. I'm over the moon with her progress and she amazes me with how far she has come. We continue to push her social boundaries, and listen and learn! Thanks to Jessica and capable canine I'm now confident in both my self and lily to try new and scary things!
Jessica knows her "stuff". She has great ideas and really knows the ins and outs of handling dogs. We were apprehensive at first as our dog has issues with strangers, but Jessica was great and Murphy did very well in class.
Very professional, easy to work with. Had some great ideas for working with our dog reactive rescue.!!! "Elvis" is on his way to being dog of the year!!😂
