The Dog Wizard Lake Norman

Our family cannot sing praises for The Dog Wizard loud enough! WOW. Just WOW. We are first time pet owners and got a sweet but VERY active little Golden Retriever, Ace, at 2 months old. At 3 months old we realized we needed some major help - for him and for us (and our sanity!). The Puppy Jumpstart program was simply phenomenal. We got daily photos and videos to tide us over while he was gone and he came home a much calmer and well behaved puppy with understanding of commands. Melanie is an absolute rock star. She was so invested in his success and dedicated a ton of time to thoroughly training us then to continue what they had started. So much so, we had a vacation planned immediately following his return and she offered to keep for a few extra days so we'd be starting the at-home-training with a proper fresh, solid start ... and not on the road. ABOVE and BEYOND. She's been back to the house since to check in on him (which was the sweetest reunion to witness!). Our lives truly have changed for the better since going through this program. Ace is thriving having structure and boundaries. And our household is calmer and happier as a result. We would recommend anyone to The Dog Wizard. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Melanie and team!

We have been extremely pleased with The Dog Wizard & would highly recommend Melanie to anyone struggling with their dog. We have an almost 4 yr old black lab that had started getting too possessive & a little aggressive of our home/family. I was initially very hesitant to leave our dog for the 3 week training, not sure how she would do. Melanie assured me we would get updates & photos of how she was progressing. We were pleasantly surprised when she returned home, how much she had calmed down overall. Our dog had learned some commands before, but would never fully obey them. Now we can ask her to “place” or “down” and she remains until we let her up. She is also doing amazing on the leash with our walks, no more pulling! I have already met Melanie out at Lowe’s to help me start feeling more comfortable with getting our dog around others & remaining calm. Melanie is also boarding our dog while we are gone for a few days & Im excited to get a little refresher in for our dog. Overall, it is a big investment, but it is so worth it to feel confident handling your dog & actually enjoying them again! Thanks to Melanie & everyone at The Dog Wizard for all your help!

OMG! OMG! Ok, so yeah a little hesitant at first just because you are literally sending your dog away but you need to do it if you are exploring the idea! We adopted our lab/pit mix back in November, she was an 8 week puppy---yep really cute and cuddly ....well that lasted about a day...:) We have a 7yo and 5yo and we are an active family. Sailor (dog) was always jumping on them and nipping us and we couldn't even walk her because she was so scared (we didn't know what happened prior to adoption). Insert Melanie and her team....First off Melanie was easy to reach via phone and she sent pictures/videos daily during the training. We were amazed by Sailor's progress within a week of the training. Unbelievable...she was staying in place and down command. She also started walking on a leash. WOW! We are so happy with our family dog and her more confident demeanor and attentiveness to commands. We will be going back for boarding sessions when we travel and refreshing courses. Thank you to Melanie and her team. Well worth every penny. Do it if you have read through this! LOL

The lovely folks here trained two of our dogs, Koa and Venom, who had interpack issues and needed some work on their basic training. Since we brought them home the house has been more peaceful and more contained with everyone being happier. After our shelter rescue finishes her heartworm treatment she will be going for training as well. Well worth the money and time the pups are away from the house.
