Hi Kelly. I would like to start out by saying this review is very misleading . There are important details left out. Yes, the time line you are speaking of is correct. During that time unfortunately a respiratory infection had spread all over the surrounding areas. This illness affected many businesses in the dog industry. Historically we had not even experienced this certain k9 cough. I did call you to make you aware that a dog was taken to the vet that had been around your dog. The thing about this k9 cough is it can lay dormant for up to 21 days without showing any signs. We were unaware that any dogs had been exposed. I thought it was very necessary to communicate with you about this right when we got the dog that coughed home from the vet. You and I both spoke and moved on with Gunnar’s board and train. We touched on the information vets had given out during this time. Much of the information is given in the contract you are referring to. We want to make you aware that your dog is taken to public areas where other dogs are and can at times pick up things . Much like children going to school. We are very transparent about the training process. We had our follow up lesson at a park and Gunnar was very healthy at that time and we did a training session together. It was shortly after that you reached out that he was taken to vet. I did pay your 700.00 vet bill. I did express that I know this type of thing is very stressful and please keep me me informed. You had requested vet records on the dog that had first showed signs of coughing. You wanted proof all vaccinations were up to date. I did send you that vaccination record. We require all vaccinations are up to date. This outbreak that spread through this area and all over NC was a learning experience. You reached out yesterday. The last time we talked you told me he was over this k9 cough and thanked me for sending you the information I had sent to you a month prior. When you reached out to me yesterday you told me the meds he had been on caused issues. This was something I was not aware of. I asked you to please send me vet records explaining what you are referring to. You told me no , then told me you would write this google review. Even though this is a negative review the positive thing about this review is, any person reading this will now be aware to ask their vet for the k9 influenza vaccination. In the past this was not a vaccination offered by vets. In the past k9 influenza had not been in this area. Also I would like to express to anyone reading this reply the importance of this vaccination if you take your dogs to socialize with other dogs. Also anyone reading this I will supply references that will tell you of my care and love of the dogs that are trusted in my care. It’s important to remember while reading the review Kelly gave and my reply, I asked to see vet records indicating the statements she is referring to about further costs after she told me Gunnar was healthy. It was at that time she told me no she would not provide this information and instead will write the negative google review. Also one last note, This respiratory infection that was throughout NC had vets unsure of exactly what type of infection it was. It’s still unclear if it was a certain of k9 cough that had never showed up before or if it was k9 influenza. Anyone that has future questions please have your vet inform about the outbreak that occurred from Aug 2022 until Sept . 2022. Even though dogs are vaccinated keep in mind there still could be a chance a dog can pick up things. Much like adults and children when getting a flu vaccination.
