I sent my dog Bowie to a 2 week board and train with Marc. Bowie is highly leash reactive…and reactive in general. Bowie came back home with a whole new set of skills. He is still working on his reactivity with me but Marc gave us both the tools to continue training in our own environment. I feel like I have more control over him on walks now. We went for group training in the park and I was a bit nervous to bring Bowie out on my own so Marc met me at my car and walked out with us together. He worked with me and practiced in the park around tons of dogs and distraction until I felt confident. Scott was great listening to my concerns on our initial consultation and finding me the right trainer for Bowie. Both Marc and Scott have been very supportive and helpful throughout the entire process and continue to be since. I highly recommend working with Dog Wizard Nashville.

My German Shiloh shepherd mix, Juneau, has just returned from a two week board and train at the Dog Wizard. I really can’t say enough good things about Tate and endorse the other reviewers thoughts about his deep knowledge and clear communication style with both Juneau and more importantly me! Juneau is 118 lbs at 11 months and had gotten very full of himself prior to training. He’s returned home much calmer and has quickly made the transition from respecting Tate to respecting me. Juneau needed the e collar training in week two in order to more fully engage in higher level of work. He’s responding at the lowest level of stimulation when need be but for most part I’ve not even needed it. Recall, going to his ‘place’ and responding to OFF when engaging in troublesome is happening with praise and his kibble as a reward. My hope is for Juneau to become a therapy dog. I think with Tates help he’s on his way!

We worked with Gretchen to train our dog, Ajax, to not jump on visitors to our home and to be more willing to listen to our commands when there are a lot of distractions. She was so wonderful with not only Ajax but with us - listening to our needs and providing support. He’s so much calmer and is more willing to listen to us. We started seeing Gretchen for our high energy reactive 2 year old pup, and she taught both him and us so much about ways to manage distracting environments. Our dog Blue absolutely ADORES her and we feel so excellent when he’s in her care. We did a 1 week board and train and I really really recommend it. She was extremely communicative during his training, sharing pictures, videos, and regular updates. Can’t ask for anything more! The tools we learned are teeing us all up for success and I can thank them enough! Run don’t walk!!

We did personal training with Kendall for our dog, Fiddle. She struggles with anxiety and leash walking. This made it difficult for us to take her out with us in public. After our sessions Fiddle has a new confidence and walking her has gone from a chore to a treat. I strongly recommend The Dog Wizard if your dog could use the help. We now have the confidence, and tools, to take Fiddle with us on any adventure. Also, once you graduate they hold weekly trainings you can attend free of charge and sort our any new issues that may crop up, so knowing we have them in the future is a huge positive. Our only regret is not calling them sooner.
