The Happy Retriever

I have had labs my whole life and then now our family decided on getting a rescue. Dogs are not easy and as dog owners we know its a huge/life commitment, we did not anticipate how much work was needed with a German Shepherd Rottweiler mix but we got the help from the trainers here at the Happy Retriever. We started with Puppy 101...took a little bit of a break and then came back to start having Gunner attend bump up days which have been so helpful to work on stubborn behaviors that we want to stop. We recently had Gunner go through Boot Camp I for prong collar training with Megan. I was scared to go on walks with Gunner, it was never enjoyable, and often I would end up with a leash burn or arguing with my partner by the end of the walk. After just a week of training, he was practically a brand new dog. It has been a little over two months since his prong collar training and he is still so good on his walks now! They are enjoyable, he is less reactive, he knows to "heel" and most importantly, he doesn't pull me over!!!! We plan to continue attending bump up says and eventually pursue e-collar training through the Happy Retriever in the near future. Gunner is still only 1 years old so we don't want to do too much too soon but I would not go anywhere else. These trainers and facility rock!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with The Happy Retriever and can’t recommend them enough! We brought our Golden Retriever, Daisy, to them because she was extremely high energy and we were really struggling with her behavior at home. She was constantly jumping on us, play biting, eating or grabbing everything in sight, and generally had a very hard time controlling her excitement and listening consistently. The difference since her board-and-train has been incredible. Daisy came home much more responsive and manageable, and most importantly, we came home better trained too! The team gave us the tools and knowledge to communicate with her, set boundaries, and continue reinforcing everything she learned. We also felt completely comfortable knowing Daisy was in great hands while she was there. It was obvious how much the team genuinely cared about her, and they took the time at pickup to make sure we understood how to continue her training at home. Daisy is still the same happy, goofy, energetic Golden we love — she just listens so much better now and we have the tools to manage that energy. The experience has made a huge difference for our family, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone at The Happy Retriever. Absolutely worth it and highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about The Happy Retriever Training Center! My dog has been attending since he was a puppy, starting with the puppy training classes and moving on to advanced e-collar training and agility training. The progress he’s made has been incredible—his reactivity to other dogs has improved so much, and he is now confident and happy around other pups. He absolutely adores the wonderful trainers, and it’s clear they truly care about the dogs they work with. The whole experience has been positive from start to finish, and I would absolutely recommend The Happy Retriever Training Center to any dog owner looking to see real results. Five stars!

I couldn't be happier with The Happy Retriever! My 7-month-old Golden puppy, Millie, has attended Puppy Class, Puppy 101, and the Bump Up Days, where all of the training is reinforced. The entire team is phenomenal—consistent, knowledgeable, patient, and truly wonderful with the dogs. Millie learned so much through each program. When I needed to board her for a week, I enrolled her in the Board & Train program, and I was amazed by the results. I can't believe how well trained she is now! She no longer jumps on people, listens and responds so well, and is still the happy, fun-loving puppy she's always been. The biggest difference is how confident I feel when people come to our home. Instead of jumping up on guests, Millie sits politely with her tail wagging, waiting to greet them. It's such a wonderful transformation. I can't thank the entire team enough for their dedication and expertise. They genuinely care about the dogs and their owners, and it shows in everything they do. I highly recommend The Happy Retriever to anyone looking for exceptional training and care for their dog!
