Matt took great care of our 10-month-old Boxer puppy, Gracie! We are so impressed with the result and the entire process made us feel like Gracie was in good hands. Matt took care to learn where Gracie was starting by observing her in our home. He learned the words and gestures we use with her to continue building upon. He also sent daily update videos and pics that are very helpful and show ways to engage with her moving forward. The drop off appointment was a great time to ask questions and learn how to continue the training in our home. It’s clear her confidence has grown a lot and she had a great time at training! I highly highly highly recommend Matt to anyone who is looking to get a dog trained. We sent our 10 month old blue heeler puppy Hope to Matt last month and for anyone who has ever had a puppy knows they can be a handful and that was no exception for ours. She was a mess to say the least but as soon as Matt worked with her for the last 40 days she has made a complete 360 and is now the most obedient dog ever. Matt has truly worked wonders on our dog and we can not thank him and his family enough . We would also like to thank his daughter for giving her some extra love and also working with our dog and giving Matt a hand with her. We knew going into this that Hope would be a very tough dog to train as she would not listen to anyone in our family no matter what we did. He made the things that we thought would never be possible with our dog possible and never gave up when she was giving him a hard time. We are very much animal people and want to make sure our babies are taken care of and as soon as Matt introduced himself to us we knew she was going into great hands. Between the weekly videos and the constant communication we knew we sent our puppy to the right place. Matt spends a great deal of quality time with you when he picks your dog up and drops them off. Matt explains everything he will do with your dog and all of his teaching tools to make sure you understand what will be used and make sure you feel comfortable. When he brought our dog home he also spent time going over the newly trained commands and makes sure you are aware and comfortable with using everything the dog has been taught. We truly believe Matt has worked miracles with our dog and highly highly highly recommend him for everyone.

Matt, The Hill Country Dog Trainer, is an amazing human being. I searched high and low and went through lots of referrals. I was very particular knowing I was potentially training a new to us 1 year old and a soon to be 3 year old golden doodle. Our family of 3 and 2 pups was perfect, throw in a 3rd they said…it was like puppy chaos. There was no longer any structure and something had to give. We needed to find someone who would be consistent, provide a home environment and committed to the quality of training; not just quantity. We all know how social media picks up on things we say and search so my ads had filled with dog trainers. I kept seeing this one and finally clicked and I immediately messaged him while I was gathering info from others. Matt responded quickly and took time to respond to me with his approach and details. He wasn’t focused on its XYZ and it costs ABC. It was genuine, we continued through email and text. We just connected and I couldn’t explain it other than God put this man and his family in front of me and said here ya go. I had been ranking others as yes no and maybe; he moved to the top, ahead of all the referrals and I never second guessed. Maverick just returned from his training with Matt and he is a different dog coming home. Of course he remembers how things were and today has been a lot; but he is the same sweet and tender, playful pup; but now understands more words and knows he needs to listen. He’s the 1 year old we just adopted, now his brother Bodie is the 3 year old off to learn and have reinforcements of that same training. My goal was for both dogs to have the same language so we can have some peace, understanding and boundaries in our home. We love the snuggles and play time but boys will be boys and we can’t have rowdy and rambunctious boys all the time. Matt and his family provide the best care. The photos, videos, check in texts, etc always let me know he was in a loving but working environment. He kept the mama heart happy and proud. Without a doubt this is the best dog trainer around.
