We are soon getting a puppy.
We haven't had a puppy for about 12 years.
We'd like to do a better job of training this one.
How soon should we start a class?
Hi Jeanne, thank you so much for contacting The Persuaded Pooch. Congratulations on your new pup... How exciting! Normally, I would say that your pup should come to puppy class at 8 weeks of age for socialization. However, we are not able to have puppy classes currently due to restrictions on the space. Therefore, we recommend private training as soon as possible after you bring your puppy home. Sometimes we have clients book the New Puppy Consultation even before they bring their puppy home, so we can help them be prepared from Day 1. Do you train dogs to be therapy dogs? If so, what is the cost and length of training
Hi John! Thank you for your message. We do not certify therapy dogs. However, if you are seeking to get into a therapy dog certification program, or refine your dog’s therapy dog skills once you are in a program, we can assist. I had a wonderful experience with Sarah and the Puppy Daycare Pack. Sarah communicated through email and video what she had worked on with my puppy each day. This helped me to follow-up in the evening and throughout the week to reinforce the skills that he had learned each day. My puppy was very relaxed and receptive around Sarah, and clearly enjoyed working with her. I highly recommend this for anyone who has a new puppy and is working full time, or just to help get your puppy off to a good start. I am looking forward to following up with the Essential Etiquette classes to continue training, most especially because my puppy so enjoyed training with Sarah.

Sarah is awesome! Extremely professional and knowledgeable. We have 3 dogs who were running the house! Sarah not only gave them basic training, but also gave us knowledge of what we can and cannot expect of our furry children. We were able to make adjustments in our home, brought us an immediate impact. I definitely recommend her services.

I can't thank Sarah enough for the training she gave to me and my dog. I learned so much about reading and following Sugar's natural cues. This experience brought us closer together than we were before. I would definitely contact Persuaded Pooch again for future training.

Our Westie (Henry) I had been through a lot in in the past months and we could tell he was stressed. We worked with another trainer and he was able to do well with basic commands. However he still had some other challenging behaviors that we did not know how to address. Our groomers recommended The Persuaded Pooch. Sarah was great to work with. She is so knowledgeable and did such good job of listening to our concerns and then observing Henry’s behaviors. She explained things thoroughly each session and came up with plans for us on how to work with Henry to reduce his stressful experiences.
Sarah is professional, always arrived on time, and had excellent communication skill with Henry and with us. Sarah, thank for you patience and support in helping to better meet Henry’s needs!!

We are extremely happy with our experiences with the Persuaded Pooch! Both of our dogs, Albi and Nora, went through the classes with Nicole. She was great, patient, and answered any questions that we had! Upon finishing the level 2 class Albi took and passed the Canine Good Citizen test! He now makes visits to my classroom thanks to the knowledge we gained from Nicole!
