The Puppy Perfectors

Don't even bother visiting in person to inquire unless you're ready to be turned away. They don't have admin staff to talk to you in person or answer when trainers are busy. I understand that not everyone can staff full time admin, but the first time interaction was a very unpleasant one and didn't build my confidence. The door to the main entrance was wide open which suggested a "come on in" mentality. Before I could get both feet in the door, I was told to leave.They lady there was very curt with me and just repeated the accusatory "can i help you..?"- which as a potential client was not a good sign.. She explained she was in a private lesson with a reactive dog and was angry with me. A good way to avoid this would have been just to close the door during this session. Yet I was spoken to like I was to blame for the situation. She told me I'd have to call to get more information. Of course, when I called later there was no one on the line. It was just a very confusing experience overall and a terrible first impression.

This place is great! We have a fiesty terrier mix who has been through boat loads of training. During COVID he became leash reactive. We took him to the reactive dog training program and it has made our capacity to help him so much better (Summer was really great at telling us, as owners, how to help our dogs help themselves!!!). It also helped to have other dogs in the class to practice what we were learning in real time. Also, summer makes things so easy to understand and follow. Additionally, our dog LOVED the class, loved it…he was so wiggly and happy every time we entered the parking lot. I definitely recommend puppy perfectors reactive dog class!!!

I have had a great experience taking my reactive dog, Charlie, to this training. They were very accommodating to his reactivity, going as far as to give him his own space to calm down when he got over excited. Not just that, but the staff is clearly extremely knowledgeable and they explain things in a very logical manner. That is, they not only explain the "how" but the "why", which makes it much easier to remember and practice the commands that they give you. I have seen great progress from my dog, and I think I've become a much better dog owner as result.

Training with Summer is the best decision I ever could have made for my German Shepherd, Anja. Summer is one of the good ones - she's super knowledgeable, patient, empathetic, sharp, and really trains in a style that works for your dog and you. I came to Summer in desperate need of help, as my 80 lb German Shepherd month puppy was leash reactive and was a fan of pulling me down the sidewalk. During this time, she took the time to bond with Anja, learned to communicate with her, and consistently worked on shared goals that we outlined together. And not only did she train Anja, she took the time to get to know me as the Pawrent and made sure I had the skills to continue training Anja. She taught me how to communicate with Anja, and taught Anja how to communicate with me. I wholeheartedly recommend Summer to anyone with Dog Training needs.
