The Wayward Canine

I recently did the board and train for two weeks and I am so glad I did! My dog has difficulty with socialization, and I was shocked to see her learn not to lunge/act crazy in the presence of other dogs! After the board, I had a 2 hr session with Josh that supported my ability to practice what we learned at home. My husband and I feel much more empowered after that session. As for the board itself, one thing that I truly appreciated was the communication. I’m a crazy dog mom and was really feeling sad about leaving my dog for so long. Krysten reached out multiple times a week with detailed descriptions of their work with my dog and photos (which was verrrry appreciated). The communication was timely and responsive in replies. They also regularly posted my pup on their Instagram which was super appreciated as well. Brought me lots of ease while I was traveling and missing my girl. I surely will be utilizing their services in the future!

Bruin has only been attending Wayward for 3 months, and he has already learned SO much! I especially want to recognize how much he has improved with leash training. Before Wayward, taking Bruin for a walk was HARD. We would be lucky if we made it 0.3 miles because he would bite at the leash, pull me ahead, and walks became more stressful than enjoyable. Today, we went on a 1.5-mile walk and he stayed right by my side the ENTIRE time! I was so incredibly proud of him!!! I want to give a HUGE shoutout to all of the staff at Wayward, especially Josh and Krysten! An extra special shoutout to Krysten for scheduling a one-on-one session with me and Bruin to teach me how to properly implement everything he has been learning. That session made such a difference! We focused on leash control and training both Bruin and me, and ever since then, we have been going on walks nonstop and they have been the BEST walks ever! I am so proud of how much Bruin has learned in just 3 months, and it makes me so happy to see how excited he is when we walk through the doors in the morning. HUGE shoutout again to everyone at Wayward! We are so grateful for everything you have done for Bruin and for us. I truly couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Mercy May was a “client here” we brought her in for behavioral aggression , confidence building and boundaries. I put client in quotes because that is how she started out as a client but she didn’t leave as just a client . After just a few days Mercy became comfortable and safe enough to be able to have her muzzle off after 6 weeks of in house boarding Mercy has gain so much confidence and her aggression has become manageable with extra home training and patience with the tools we learn from Waywad K9 this girl is going to be unstoppable an she will be able to feel safe in her surroundings- Imagine .. 6 weeks with out your fur baby .. it was hard , especially when she is my sense of peace and my comfort . It was hard but Krysten stayed in contact , she communicated and she made her missing not sad days were not dreaded counting down until i could see my baby again , the days were exciting because i was so excited to see what else she learned and i was happy she was there i too felt so comfortable, Mercy May became family to Wayward K9 and i truly can not thank Krysten and the other staff enough for their patience, guidance and support !

I started taking our 4 year old German Shepherd back in January. He is a good boy, but was tagged as a reactive dog by a previous trainer that I was not very happy with. Turns out that he is not reactive but protective of my husband and I and the house. He entered into the 3 week board and train in April. I can’t say enough about Josh and Krysten! They are amazing! I now take him once a week and he is doing so well. I love seeing his pictures on Instagram and seeing his smile! He loves working and his trail walks. My husband and I were able to take our first vacation in 4 years. I’m so glad we found Wayward Canine! Thank you all so much!!!
