Thunder Ridge Kennels

Leonard and his staff have been nothing but kind to us, and they took really great care of our two dogs while we were out of town. The property is beautiful, lots of room for the dogs to run around and play safely. The facilities are what I'm used to seeing for hunting dogs so just be mentally prepared that it's more aligned with cabins at sleepaway summer camp that you went to as a kid rather than The Four Seasons hotel. The floors are heated and they provide blankets/towels so it keeps everyone comfortable. I agree with another reviewer who said that the bougie kennels are more for the pet owners comfort than anyone else, all the pups (including mine) seem perfectly happy and well taken care of. Word to the wise: they will be playing outside a bunch so you'll want to plan on a bath when they get home! What really clued me in that this was the right place for us was our skittish dog letting Leonard pet her during our first visit. He definitely has a natural ability to communicate with the pups and I guess she knew it because she was an abuse case rescue and almost never approaches anyone for affection! We will definitely be bringing our dogs back to "camp" whenever we need to leave town, they had a blast :)
