Do they use shock collars?
Hi Diane! Thank you for reaching out. We do not generally introduce any remote training in group classes. If you choose to do private sessions, we can help train using any methodology or tools that you are most comfortable with. We do use remote collars on our in-board program for a reliable come behavior.

I have a medium to large dog that I would like to have trained as a service dog for me to help me with my Diabetes. I would like an idea of how much it would be to get him certified as a service dog. Please advise.
I am so sorry that we missed this question. We do offer assistance training diabetic alert dogs. The cost is dependent on which programs are used to build the reliable obedience and task training needed. If you are still in need, I am happy to have some give you a call or set up a free virtual conversation to discuss it all in detail. Any service dog work has a lot of ins and outs, and we are happy to share our expertise.

I need lots of help with my dog Halo. He will be a year old in October and still refuses to be potty trained and he refuses the leash. Can anyone help with this?

We have a variety of training programs to explore, all detailed on our website www.thunderhawkcanine.com. That said, I think you would be best served by starting with a private training session. The trainer and you could discuss your specific needs and areas of concern and develop a plan of action to get there. We cover a ton of info in that first session- including environmental management to prevent issues, training appropriate behaviors, and realistic goals. Private sessions cost $45 at our facility (Thunderhawk's Academy on 111) and $60 to meet in your home or alternate location, provided its within 30 miles of our facility.
Booking requests can be made via the website as well. Looking forward to helping you guys get started.

Christie is an amazing trainer and I highly recommend her and its worth the drive if you are in the Nashville area. We took our rescue dog to her for a few days of board and train while we were on a extended weekend trip. Our dog was terrible on a leash (pulling, wouldn't settle down to get the leash on him, and wanting to swerve around to smell everything once he was on his walk). After 4.5 days of board and train, he is doing sooooo much better on a leash and no longer pulls us around or chases everything. His overall house manners with minimal jumping on people and counters have also improved. When talking with her at pick up, he stayed loose leashed and sat next to me, something I could never see achieving without Christie's training.
As a reminder, you as the owner have to be committed to continue to put the work in as well and Christie gives you the right tools, instructions, and resources.
I also liked that our dog was in her home during board and train and he was able to socialize in a home setting.
Christie, we can't thank you enough for your kindness, respect, professionalism, and work you have put into our boy. Training is truly your calling, and the help you are providing to family and dogs is amazing and doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!

Went to a lecture by Christie on reactive dogs. It was very helpful for my situation with my dog and also informative to use with other dogs.l like her lecture style. She kept her audience engaged.
I also use Thunderhawk for multiple dog training classes and I am always happy.
