TK-9 Academy

Up until now, I would have rated this place 5 stars. However, when my dog was picked up from a weekend stay, a few items were missing from her bag. Which I know can happen, but I have been calling and leaving voicemail with their answering service since the end of August, with no response about whether they can locate my dog's stuff or not. Nothing. If they lost her stuff, they should at least call me back and admit to it instead of wasting my time. One of the items missing was a brand-new bag of supplements that cost over $65 to replace.

I can't say enough about how wonderful a dog trainer Will Hendrix is. My rescue border collie Nik was very anxious and often reactive, barking and lunging at dogs who stared at him and, even more troubling, at some people. He also pulled constantly when I walked him. Will taught me relaxation exercises to do with Nik and worked with us on loose leash walking. I was surprised at how well the relaxation exercises worked -- Nik learned how good it feels to unwind, relax and get into what Will calls "the Zone." I don't have to worry anymore about him barking and lunging at other dogs or people, and enjoy taking him for walks. To my surprise, Nik did well when I tried leaving him at the TK-9 daycare and I've boarded him there. He seems very excited when we arrive and happily goes off, even if he's never before met the staff person who's taking him. This would have been unimaginable before I worked with Will. Will is truly a dog whisperer!
