I used to bring my dog to TK9 a few years ago and always appreciated the service—whether it was for boarding or daycare, they were consistently reliable and caring. However, after their recent change in management, the overall experience has started to feel a bit lackluster. I gave them another try recently for boarding while I was on vacation. When I dropped off my dog, I noticed he was placed in a crate that was clearly too small for his size. I requested a larger kennel, and to their credit, they did accommodate the change. Still, when I returned from my trip and picked him up, I noticed a red sore on his paw, which I suspect was due to stress from the environment. He also rushed to me in a way that felt different—more anxious than usual—which hasn’t happened in previous boarding experiences or with any Rover sitters. One of the services they offer is daily photo updates (for an extra fee), which I signed up for. Unfortunately, this was hit or miss. Of the five days my dog was there, I only received photos on two or three days, and even then, I had to follow up multiple times via text, email, and phone to get them. It felt like a chore to get the service I paid for, which was disappointing. It’s still a great place for dogs to socialize and play, but the quality of care and responsiveness isn’t what it used to be. I’ve since decided to switch to using Rover again, where I’ve had more consistent and attentive experiences.
