To the Rescue K9 Training

My tough guy Otis, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, had a habit of jumping on people and nipping at them like he was going to bite. He never did actually bite until…he did bite. A friend walked into our home and Otis jumped up and bit his arm through three layers of clothing, which resulted in a wound. If this happened in the summer time with no shirt on, my friend may have had a chunk of his arm bitten off. Otis also loved to charge at other dogs while on walks. His strength pulled me until I could no longer control him and he pounced on and tackled innocent dogs that were in the wrong place at the wrong time. A couple of the canine victims suffered minor bloody wounds. Needless to say, not only the dogs but the dog owners were a bit peeved at both Otis and me. I was very anxious about this behavior so I mostly took Otis to places I knew other dogs and people didn’t frequent. We became reclusive, which was no fun. After the bite to my friend I promised I would get professional training for Otis. Ken came highly recommended and I am ecstatic with the outcome. He came to our home for 6 training sessions and on the first visit Otis jumped and nipped at Ken so he saw him in action. Now, after six training sessions, Otis is like a different dog. He no longer jumps on or nips at people, and on walks he ignores other dogs passing by! He is such a pleasure to walk now and I no longer fear that he’ll charge at other dogs. He heels, sits, lays down on command and off leash he walks very close by me. I had doubts about training because Otis has a very stubborn and strong willed nature. Boy was I wrong! Ken worked wonders on him. Otis and I have proudly graduated our training and I now have a dog I can trust around other people and dogs! Thank you Ken for a job incredibly done!

I am so grateful for Ken and To the Rescue K9 Training. When I reached out to Ken, my dog Arlo was sometimes skittish of new things and very stubborn. He would be difficult to walk and handle when seeing another dog due to excitement. Now Arlo walks right next to me on-leash, and we enjoy our beach walks far more with his new off-leash freedom! My dog is now attentive and extremely obedient, all thanks to Ken and his expertise. Ken has truly worked wonders with my dog Arlo, giving Arlo the confidence and freedom a dog should have, and through this helping me be more confident as a dog owner.
