Our dog Goose is a rescue who had a tremendous fear of other dogs. Goose would attack certain dogs if they got to close and would tire our arms out from pulling us on walks. Sam helped change Goose and encourage proper techniques and tricks for introducing Goose to other dogs and helping us get him to a proper heal when walking. We learned Goose is reactive and have curved his behavior because of Sam. I highly recommend Sam, because of his knowledge, to anyone who has concerns or obstacles with their pups.

This was our first experience with a dog trainer and it made a world of difference. Rosie was a very active Aussie puppy, out of control. She pulled relentlessly while walking, she didn’t come when called off leash Sam was able to change all of it. We are so grateful we called him and started on training. Our only regret is we didn't do it sooner. She is so much more pleasant to walk now and comes when called off leash. This only took 4 lessons. We plan on resuming more lessons in the spring. I am an experienced dog guardian and have raised and cared for dogs most of my life. The two I have now presented challenges I had never experienced due to unusual circumstances. After spending the last 4 years working on their training with multiple trainers, they still didn’t exhibit the obedience I’m accustomed to. I met Sam and decided to give it another try. It was obvious immediately that my pups responded to him favorably, I learned so much just watching him with my dogs. After the first month of him working with them and me, my dogs were much more consistent and reliable to my guidance. We continued for another month to see how dialed in we could get my wild maniacs. After working with Sam, there is no longer inappropriate barking, lunging or pulling on their leashes. They fall into an off leash heel on command and don’t greet others unless released to do so. Sam created an environment in which I could once again relax and enjoy my walks with my best buds with no concern for behavioral issues. Because of this, my pups enjoy a much better quality of life, as do I.

Sam is a phenomenal trainer and we have the results to prove it. We have a young Field Lab (high energy) and had struggled to keep her in control. We signed up for eight training sessions with Sam. After the first round of lessons our dog was profoundly better. She could walk calmly on leash. Heel, sit, stay on command. She doesn't bark-at, or rush, other people on the trail. Sam worked on getting Hilda (our dog) to stay when we saw other dogs on the trail, and only to approach other dogs after we announced ourselves and allowed Hilda to approach the other dogs. While we were more than satisfied with Hilda's performance after the first round of lessons, we decided to go for another round of eight lessons just to fine-tune everything. Now that we're finished with those lessons, I'm absolutely blown away with how well behaved and responsive Hilda is. She can walk off-leash in a heel position (stays by me the whole time). She won't rush other dogs. We can get her to sit/stay even while other dogs are around. She will respond to commands the first time without repeating ourselves. This is all 100% attributed to Sam's training techniques. He is professional and attentive during each lesson, and is always finding constructive ways to critique and offer advice. He perfectly blends both positive and corrective reinforcement. And he had tons of recommendations on the best kinds of treats and tools to use. I can't recommend Sam enough. We have an entirely new dog. And Hilda loves Sam too, she's always ecstatic to see him. If you are considering training for your dog, please don't hesitate to reach out to him.
