When we rescued Sierra she was walking on her two back legs, was reactive to other dogs, and had a hard time understanding commands. Now she can walk on a loose leash, and can walk off leash right next to us. She has improved greatly with her reactivity to other dogs, and is very attentive to her humans. Not only did we train on the trail, we also were able to train in the neighborhood, and advanced to heavenly village, and the dog park. Our year old German Shepherd Kovu used to be extremely reactive when passing other dogs on walks and needed some serious leash manners. Sam was great! He was friendly, patient and determined to help us connect more to Kovu so that our walks can be more enjoyable. After a months worth of training, twice a week, Kovu’s behavior improved significantly! He learned to stay calm while others passed us and leash walking has been a breeze to say the least! My Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever on leash, would bark and want to go after 80% of the dogs walking by, or even 20-30 feet away when he was just watching them go by. I would wake up at 6am and take him out by 7am just to avoid other dogs. Sam was able to teach him how to walk next to me and how to walk him and condition him so he isn’t leash aggressive anymore. I can walk him around busy crowds and other dogs. An absolute dream come true for me and my boy Samson.
