I came to Owen and Ellie for help with my high drive, chaotic, and occasionally evil German shepherd puppy who at a very young age was reactive towards other dogs and smaller creatures. They helped me build a foundation for her that was structured and fun to keep her manageable. They also boarded her for about 2 weeks while I was away. During the board and train I saw the biggest improvement in her behavior and what she can do in their capable hands. She’s still a reactive dog and we will have a long ways to go but I’m excited to do it with Owen and Ellie’s help. She’s gone from insane barking at the sound of another dog collar to being able to be in a kennel next to several other dogs sitting quietly and calmly. I feel like they really understand her needs and have helped me try to meet them for her to make her a happier pet. They’ve been available for every question and give great feedback. I cannot recommend them enough!

Working with the Training for Trust team has been the best decision we've made for our dog Sage! Owen & Ellie have given us the tools to transform Sage from a scared rescue pup to a dog with greater confidence. We really appreciate that they've become part of Sage's support team & help when we've had questions or worries outside of our training sessions. We weren’t sure if we’d be able to keep our dog before we met Ellie and Owen of Training for Trust. We faced very significant and dangerous behavioral issues with our 7 year old border collie mix, leaving us anxious and scared. Thankfully, we found Ellie and Owen through one of their current clients. After our first session with Ellie and Owen, we saw a future of love and understanding with our animal. They spent hours teaching us how our dog thinks and why their training approach is effective- their goal from the beginning was to teach us how to train our dog and how to be an integral part of her development. It was immediately apparent that we were all in this together, and that they had a vested interest in seeing our dog succeed. When we were all ready to take another step into the training work, we sent our dog for board and train program at their home. They were communicative, informative, understanding, and answered all questions we had. They took time to send videos and explain every step of the training regiment, including the psychology behind each exercise. Our dog made tremendous progress while in their care. No magic pill, but very obvious positive change. She is OBSESSED with Ellie, clearly showing us there were no negative experiences during her training with them. This was critical for us, having had traumatic experiences with previous trainers. Importantly, Ellie and Owen are pragmatists and won’t sugar coat the realities of your animal. They will be honest about the work you as the owner need to do to continue the training, but they will set you up with all of the tools and knowledge to do so. Our dog is far from perfect, but we feel supported and informed about how to move forward. From late night house calls to address urgent behavior issues, to reassuring text messages and attending stressful vet visits- these two are truly the best. They will meet you and your dog when you are without judgment and push everyone to be better. Worth every penny and every minute of time. We cannot recommend them enough.
