We brought our 6-month-old rescue puppy, Arlo, to Trowehound for a one-week training with Dave, and the results were incredible. Arlo learned so much in such a short time, and Dave gave us the tools to continue the training at home. He explains dog behavior in a way that makes everything click, and I feel like I’m a better dog owner because of it. Arlo now listens consistently, walks beautifully on leash, and even our vet staff commented that he was the best-behaved puppy they’d seen! We’ll definitely keep working with Dave as Arlo grows — highly recommend!

Well, the unimaginable happened. This might be a little long, but it shows how effective Dave's training with our Reilly has been. Absolute amazing trainer. Total natural with dogs. Before training for 2 weeks with Dave: Reilly was on two anti-anxiety medications, he bit a woman when he broke loose from his run as she walked by our yard, Reilly would only walk a certain route in our neighborhood bc of his anxiety, he would pull the entire time, was highly reactive to other dogs and some people, he was extremely territorial of our living room causing him to chase & be aggressive towards my 20 year old son and cat when either of them would enter the room, at times he would get aggressive towards me, he would stay on the sofa even when repeatedly being told to get down, and he would not listen to any commands I gave him from previous training in his earlier years (with the exception of "sit" and "paw.") Dave explained that Reilly did not respect me. As much as I didn't like hearing that - he was 100% correct! Life with Reilly now is so much more enjoyable. After training with Dave: no more medication, Reilly walks beautifully with me now (a woman just commented this morning what a beautiful, well behaved dog he was on our walk!), our neighbors notice how much more calm he is, I no longer avoid walking past people and dogs, there's absolutely no pulling, he stays next to me instead of in front of me, our walks now consist of new and different routes and last twice as long as our original walks, he no longer is on the sofa or my bed, he has his own "place" in our living room and my bedroom, and no more chasing my son and cat when they enter the living room. The change in Reilly at almost 6 years old is nothing short of amazing. He is the same, goofy, lovable dog, just more pleasant and seems more secure knowing that I'm in charge, not him. The key is, and Dave is 100% correct on this - you have to continue the training once you get home. I never thought I would send my dog away to someone for two weeks to train, and I'm so glad I did. Dave sent me photos and video while Reilly was there, and he kept me updated on how Reilly was doing. Dave is absolutely amazing with dogs. My dog is a 2yr old Staffordshire Terrier. She is overall a well behaved dog but I had a serious problem with her jumping on people and she was probably at 50% on recall. She is a 53 lbs little tank and I was nervous about her knocking over a small child or elderly person. I did the two week program with David and she came back with her happy personality, but her behaviour had serious improvements. David instructed me on a series of trainings to work on the dog with every day to make sure her behaviour remains improved. Sticking with the trainings my dog is no longer jumping on people and has vastly improved recall. The more I have stuck with it, the more improvement I have seen. I would 100% recommend Trouwe Hond K-9 if you are looking to improve your dog's behavioural issues.

Where do I start.... We have a large friendly golden retriever who was absolutely terrible walking on the leash. She was a great dog but we were desperate trying to find a solution to this issue. We had exhausted all options and scoured the internet to search for answers. After some research, we found David Ranieri. We read a bunch of the reviews and he has over 30 years of experience training dogs. He seemed like the perfect person to help and HE WAS. David met with us for an evaluation and after spending some time with our dog he immediately diagnosed the issues. David suggested that we do a 2 week board and train package with him and it was the best thing we have ever done. He made sure to outline a detailed plan of everything he was going to do with our dog and executed above and beyond our expectations. David made sure to update us throughout the process, sending pictures and updates, also meeting with us halfway through for a training session. A large portion of the training requires the owners to understand what it takes to keep your dog in line and David makes sure to outline everything perfectly. We met with David for a training session at the end of the time and we couldn't even believe it was the same golden retriever that we dropped off. If anyone in the New England area is looking for a dog trainer or help with their dog, David is the only person they should be talking too. If I could leave 10 stars I would. Highly recommend.

David has really done god work with our husky pup. When we picked him up after a week he was a whole new dog. Living with 7 people it was a big challenge, there was food grabbing, jumping, play biting, going to the bathroom in the house. First night home he tested us a few times but after a few training tips he was back in line. I recommend David to anyone who is having issues with there pup, young or old.
