Trouwe Hond K-9

Last year my wife and I brought a little monster into our home and, while she was very cute, she was also incredibly misbehaved. We brought her to multiple trainers and despite their (and our) best efforts, nothing was getting through to her. We were honestly at wits end, and with a ten pound dog no less. I did quite a bit of research trying to find anyone who could provide training that would fix our little Penny, because we couldn't have an unpredictable dog in our home when we also have a six year-old son. That's when I found David and Trouwe Hond K-9. As I would later tell David, I wish we had found him years earlier for previous dogs in our family. I could not, (and still can't) believe how effective his training methods are. This is not the type of training you get from just reading books, or going to your local pet store. This is a training regimen that has been developed over the course of decades by someone who dedicated their life to this. I learned so much about how our dogs think, and how they see themselves with their owners/family. David has a passion for this that is infectious and I found myself looking forward to our training sessions. Seeing the progress with our puppy was just awesome. It's been a month since I brought Penny to David, and it's like we have a new dog. She still has all the personality, but she is so well behaved that it's really hard to believe. I can't recommend Trouwe Hond K-9 enough. And thank you David, again, you are a lifesaver.

We’ve been working on training our pup since the day she came home. We tried videos and enrolled her in a puppy program but we were still having trouble and found ourselves a little misguided. We are proud owners of a beautiful rottie and came to David for help. After the two week board and train program our dog was calmer, easier to control, and really started to listen to us. The focus on correcting behavior has made everything so much easier. With David’s help we fixed our approach and got the right tools to work with our dog. We cannot recommend David at Trouwe Hond enough!!! If you are willing to work hard and put love and time with your pup, this place is for you!!!!

Our experience with Trouwe Hond K-9 has been AMAZING. David was referred to me by a good friend on Cape and after speaking with him, we agreed that it was worth the trip to Hanover and the investment. We have a 4 year old street dog from Turks and Caicos, and while very handsome, Mango started developing aggression around the age of 2. It was becoming extremely stressful and I couldn't have him around anyone anymore. My partner and I are both very outgoing, enjoy being around family and exploring so we needed help so our lifestyles wouldn't continue to be hindered due to an aggressive dog. David helped us IMMENSELY. Mango stayed with him for just over two weeks during Thanksgiving. We came up twice for training during the boarding time and learned a lot. Within a week of Mango being there we already saw a significant improvement. Once Mango came home we continued with everything David gave us so we could also be successful. He offers follow up classes that are included In your two week training price. I was also able to purchase leashes, collars and an E collar directly from David. He has a very safe and clean set up and handles each dog with extreme professionalism. Mango received lots of love, and even some turkey on Thanksgiving! David updated with us with pictures and videos the entire time and answered any questions we have. I would recommend him over and over again. His wife is also amazing and Mango loved her!!!! It was nice to see that they were both able to form a relationship with Mango so that he felt safe the entire time. In each follow up training session we learned a lot. He also took us out to tractor supply so we could train in the public around dogs and humans Mango doesn't know and it made such a difference. He truly cares about the well being of the dogs and that the owners are also comfortable. We look forward to many more sessions with David over mangos lifetime! Thankyou Trouwe Hond K-9!!!
