Trouwe Hond K-9

Size does not matter..I know what you’re saying..Oh what a cutie puppy!! He is very cute but our eight month old mini golden doodle had taken over the household with aggression , nipping and incessant barking. Without even knowing what had happened he had become the leader of the pack and he had taken over us and the household. We realized that we needed immediate help..we searched on line and read countless reviews and we decided to send an email to Trouwe Hond K-9. That evening we got a phone call from David who took great lengths to listen to our concerns as we listened intently to his explanation as to why our doodle Dunkin was acting the way he was. During this phone call my wife and I already knew we had found the right person! We set up an appointment for us and Dunkin to personally meet with David at his business…At the end of the meeting we decided that the correct decision was to have Dunkin stay with David 24/7 for a one week period. During this week we got a few email updates and a couple pics…don’t worry at all if you only get one short update email and nothing else….David is working his magic! At the end of the one week period…we came to pick up Dunkin but also we stayed for a almost 3 hour training class with notebook and pen in hand… That’s right….take copious notes and video’s because when you leave you’ll have homework in order for you to implement David’s hard work at your home. We then came back with Dunkin for a 2nd scheduled training class to work on what you’ve been doing at home to make your and your puppy/dogs life more enjoyable for all! David is a miracle worker…that’s a fact! But it also takes alot of work from you to utilize the tools that David had implemented to realize total success. Our doodle Dunkin is a changed and happy puppy …the aggression and nipping is gone and the whole house is happy! If you’re reading this review because you find yourself in the same situation that we were in…please don’t look any further…email or call David…you’ll certainly be glad you did! We are so thankful for Trouwe Hond and David. We sent our dog Benji for a 2 week B&T for behavior issues, issues walking on leash, and recall training. He is a young, very excited, and energetic dog. He also showed issues with being territorial, reactivity and resource guarding from a young age. He only listened to basic commands in the house with treat motivation prior to his training with David. We now are able to practice obedience training and recall training outside and in distracting environments and he listens to us well. He also walks SO much better on leash! He is overall more calm. We were so nervous to send Benji away and trust anyone other than ourselves to care for him, but David and his wife made us feel comfortable and did a great job.

I came across Trouwe Hound K-9 shortly after adopting my 5 year old pit sharpei mix, Peaches. We knew she was going to need a trainer who could help with undoing some of her more undesirable behaviors that she had been doing for several years. Daves knowledge and commitment to his clients is unmatched. He invests the time necessary to get the results his clients are hoping for. He spent several hours teaching my boyfriend and I different exercises and made sure we were confident doing them with our dog. I’m beyond thankful for all Dave has done to help us with our Peachy girl. I can’t speak any more highly of Trouwe Hound K-9 and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone in need of dog training!

We had rescued a 6 month pup from TX. I had never owed a dog before. We watched videos and would try teaching basic commands of sit and come. Our dog was skittish from the start. We would have people come by the house but the dog would angry bark, lunge and snap at peoples hands. One day he ended up biting a relative who needed medical attention. In our last efforts to keep our family dog, we found Trouwe Hond and had a consultation. I was skeptical but after speaking with the trainer and working through some exercises it was clear that we could not do the proper training on our own. After 2 weeks of kennel training and writing this review 2 weeks after the pup has been home, I can confidently say that it was worth every penny. We have kept up with the training at home and are super grateful for Dave and his wife’s support, training and education that they gave our whole family.
