Wonderful place. Took my dog there to learn some training. They don’t train the dogs; they train you to train the dogs. Nice, big, clean facility. Highly recommend and wi be returning. My only small issue I have is their accessories department. I showed up with wrong leash & collar, so I had to buy one on sight. They said it’s only a small markup but it was more than double what I could have paid on Amazon. So not sure about a small markup. If that’s truly so, then might want to rethink your supplier.

They advertise that they are a positive reinforcement training but as soon as we came to the 2nd class they immediately put a prong collar on my dog. 🐕 Then they were having me pop my dog with the leash while wearing a prong collar when she was reacting to the other dogs. It overall made us very uncomfortable and made my dog super anxious for class and we quit going and are out of 90$ as well. I do not recommend this training place as their methods of correction are mentally and possibly physically damaging to your doggos.

I write this review to not talk badly about the facility, but to strictly bring awareness to the actual class, and hopefully save someone time and money. When I signed up for this class I was initially very excited. Excited to get my puppy out in the world more, learn some things, and allow him to get a little more well behaved. Learning that this was only going to be a class of 8 people was also pleasing. What they don’t tell you, however, are the other classes happening at the same time as yours, with no walls to separate you from the others. This should have been my first red flag. Week 1 of the class was very, very rough. I left there not sure if I wanted to pursue this as there really wasn’t much productivity that night. I’m generally not a person that gives up and wanted to give my puppy a chance to learn and grow, so I went back the next week. I ended up going for 5 of the 8 weeks and I really only left there one week feeling good about the class. Nearly every week I left the class irritated and frustrated. Mind you, my dog is part Lab and part Blue Heeler, so he is very energetic. Trying to keep him calm and under control is hard to begin with, but adding in other distractions to the scenario did not help matters. It’s, in my opinion, ridiculous to think that a puppy is going to sit and listen to you when you’ve got probably 15-20 other dogs in the same vicinity. It wasn’t conducive to learning at all. I understand that the instructors are volunteers and sacrifice time out of their day to teach this course, and for that, I commend them. I do not think the approach to their teaching is appropriate. One minute you’ll have the instructor demonstrating the exercise and the next minute when you’re up doing the exact same thing they showed you, you get ostracized for doing it wrong, or “on the wrong side.” I get that they were teaching us to have the dogs on our left side to hopefully one day go into another training class, but these are puppies we’re talking about. I’m thrilled when my puppy obeys me! I don’t need him sitting on one particular side over the other. Again, I’m not a person who generally gives up on anything, but for the sake of mine and my dog’s mental health, not returning to that class was the best decision I made. I would not recommend TDTC. Did my dog learn something new? Sure. Did I learn some new techniques to help my dog? Sure. But if you have the option to go to another training class, I would highly encourage it.
