We had some problems with our dog Louie with reactivity and his nervousness, Tecla has given us many tools and exercises that has greatly turned him in the right direction, we have done private lessons and also the intermediate class. It has greatly improved, helped, and made Louie an overall better dog! I would highly recommend her online classes if you are in need of help with your puppy or dog which we were unsure of but turned out to be amazing!

My dogs and I have taken a number of in-person classes, both group classes and private lessons, with Tecla in the past. I just had the opportunity to train with Tecla again in an online Intermediate Obedience class through University of Dog and it was fantastic! I love the online platform. It's easy to use and understand and provides a great platform for communicating with Tecla. I had a great time during the classes, where all the attendees not only learned from Tecla but also from each other. Making homework videos at home on my time was super convenient too. I'm so happy to have the chance to take classes from Tecla again. She is the absolute best and her University of Dog online classes are wonderful!

Tecla is a blessing in my life! We got a puppy when things were crazy enough with 4 kids and a dog as it was. Of all breeds my husband picked a powerful guardian breed that is very stubborn! I truly was at my wits end and wanted to give this puppy up at 9 months! I had socialized him and taken him everywhere I could from sports fields to farms, boxing classes, hair salons. But at that 9 month mark when fear aggression kicked in and his hormones started showing up I was truly defeated. I am so glad I didn't give this pup away. He is now pushing 18 months, still not fixed and the sweetest most well mannered boy. ALL BECAUSE OF TECLAS GUIDANCE & LEADERSHIP! I just did some training in the parking lot after my son's bus came. There was a leaf blower and lawnmowers, cars rolling through a drive-through, lots of wind, someone working in an electric bucket on a light fixture. But let me tell you when I put the prong collar on this pup it was game on, he was ready to WORK and do w.e I asked him to do... the world stood still. Everything he had learned from his basic obedience class he was not only willing to do but EAGER, and I am amazed. I had diligently followed the class (most of the time), had to be strongly encouraged to use the prong collar and had a few setbacks, but she never gave up on me! I was educated and encouraged and held accountable. She not only teaches commands but she teaches what leadership is and effective communication. I found myself applying the work I was doing to build a relationship with my dog, to all parts of my life. This woman has opened my eyes to another level of parenting and communication with my spouse. I remember seeing a belgian malinois at a school assembly as a child, amazed at the relationship he had with his handler and bewildered... how do you do that??? Since I'm not in the K9 unit my answer is Tecla at UofDog. I can not rave enough about the effectiveness of these online courses or the character of the woman that runs it. My dog's confidence has grown exponentially in the obedience course and so has our relationship. We are in the intermediate course now and my dog is loving it, he is so excited to train. My favorite part is the connection I am growing with this pup, it's making me feel like a fool for wanting to give up on him! I have friends say to me all the time that they cannot believe how well behaved he is, how well he listens, how calm he is... for being a young Rottie that isn't fixed. If you are overwhelmed by your dog or lost on what to do, just sign up for the course and do the HW. Take it one step at a time and trust her because she is a complete gem that is underpriced (in my opinion) lol.

Tecla Walton is simply, unarguably one of the best dog trainers you will find. Period. I have known Tecla for over 12 years and have trained multiple dogs with her. I have taken puppy classes, basic obedience, advanced obedience, rally and had private lessons. All of her classes were always detailed, structured, highly valuable and effective. My most recent dog is a young GSD/Malinois mix and he has dealt with fear based reactivity. When the Covid shutdowns happened, all in person training came to a halt. I was still very much working through the reactivity. I was so concerned about losing ground. Tecla reached out and proposed an online class option. My first reaction was there is no way an online class will work. I had major reservations that I could train my dog effectively through an online platform. But, I trust Tecla and decided to give it a try. Fast forward… I am on my 3rd online class and have seen incredible improvements! Bravo to Tecla for creating a cutting edge process that marries her foundation of training through relationship with her record of highly effective results. Tecla demonstrates in her signature training style that the relationship between you and your dog builds the solid foundation necessary for all else to follow. There is a night and day difference in my relationship with my dog and his behavior, since taking the online courses. The bond we have built has given him self confidence and trust in me that has improved his reactivity immensely. Instead of immediately reacting out of fear to an unknown situation, he looks to me for guidance and reassurance. I owe Tecla a debt of gratitude. The ingenious online platform differentiates itself in many ways. But, one big one is accountability. There are no quick fixes when training a dog. We must put in the work. You and your dog will work hard. You will be held accountable for the weekly work through online videos that are shared within the classroom. But just like anything in life, if you put in the work, you will see amazing results and love the relationship with your dog. Trust Tecla to get you there!
