Here’re the reasons why: - Flexible Class format: Not only group classes are more economical, it’s also helpful to learn from other pet parents' experiences. The class sizes are small enough that as first-time dog owners, my husband and I were able to ask questions that weren’t part of the curriculum. In addition to Positive Puppy, Basic, Intermediate and Advance Obedience online classes, we also took two weekends intensive about reactive training in person. The online class options was helpful for us to have consistent education while we were moving. - Expert that has seen it all: Classes covered 80% of the needs but we learned every pup has unique needs. Our first pup needed help with reactivity and our second pup needed help with fear issues. Tecla is a wealth of knowledge with all the issues we face and have several options we could try. Care: The most important thing is that Tecla truly cares. We have tried other training programs where the instructor didn’t follow up after we have been missing classes. Tecla, on the other hand, will follow up if we miss submitting homework or miss a class. She will check in to make sure we are set up for success.

This program & Tecla, the mastermind behind it, are for those that truly want their dog to thrive and to have a respectful relationship with their dog. Her on line platform is easy to learn & you could do it from anywhere. You learn & reinforce it with pdf and videos that you access through an electronic classroom. This allows all types of learners to excel. You video yourself & upload the assignments. Tecla will let you know what you do well & where you need to improve. We have utilized Tecla’s services for behavioral assistance also and she can be available for one on one guidance. She truly is a gift and we have witnessed a 9 year old dog learn new tricks for sure!

I've worked with Tecla for over 3 years, and the teaching methods she uses are beyond compare. She really understands how to work with many people and different dogs, allowing her to be able to tailor teaching to each person's special case. Additionally, you understand the what and why behind what are you doing with you dog, as well as building a true bond them. During my time working with her, I tired an online and in person lesson for the same class. At first, I was very skeptical I would get anything out of an online course with my pup. Everything I've learned says you need to be hands on and in person, but I was wrong. With an online course, not only are you receiving instruction that can be more personalized because you can reach out easily to your instructor, but when you record yourself, its allows you to practice more and observe your progress. From the videos, you learn how to identify mistakes you are making quickly, witness the improve with each video, and receive a payoff that is ten times better than an in person. It truly has made me a believer about the success of using an online classes with dog training over in person, and I look forward to more classes to come.

I have greatly benefited from online coursework with my dog and the incredibly skilled training provided by Tecla Walton! I have done both in-person and virtual training for obedience and behavioral concerns and find the virtual learning environment to be so productive! I really enjoy the ability to work at my dog's level, starting in low distraction environments and being able to work up to more distracting settings with the trusted feedback of an online instructor. I also appreciate the ability to have feedback on my real-life practice of skills learned in class via video homework submissions and getting personalized feedback that is more detailed than what is typically available during in-person courses. My relationship with my dog has been incredibly strengthened through participating in virtual coursework and my dog is so much more happy, relaxed, and fulfilled through the work we have done together. I highly recommend the virtual platform, Tecla's skills, and her curriculum!

I found the Basic Obedience: Loose Leash Walking 101 course to be very well organized and orchestrated. The platform contained all the elements to help a student get the most out of the class including online realtime class time, recorded videos to demonstrate practical application, written materials to supplement the video instructions and valuable feedback on our progress as we submitted our practice videos in class. Tecla is very experienced and knowledgeable and is not only well versed in learning theory and behavior, she has a wealth of experience competing with her personal dogs. She was very generous with her time to assist people with specific challenges and was committed to each student's success. I would highly recommend this course!
