Up N Atom Dog Training and Daycare

I can’t recommend Up N Atom Dog Training enough! I have a 2.5 yr old corgi/aussie mix named Ren that I rescued in September of 2024. He’s a great dog, but I live in a very busy/populated area and he’s very reactive to any animals, people and even cars. It was basically impossible for me to step outside without him reacting. He’s very high energy and with his reactivity it was pretty much impossible to walk him or take him to the park. I wanted him to have a better quality of life and be allowed to have more freedom, but I needed him to have structure first. I did some research and talked to different trainers in the area, but I felt Shania was the best fit! Shania and Alicia have been absolutely amazing. Shania did our initial 4 week board and train program and was very good about sending updates through pictures and videos daily! He did so amazing and we got to experience his graduation at the Pet Expo in Cleveland in April. This event was super overstimulating, even for me, and we were able to experience how much he improved in a busy environment with several of his triggers. It was a great learning experience to orient us in how to use e-collar, leash pressure ect. in these types of environments! This was extremely helpful for us. We are now 8 weeks out from training and I am still so happy to say that it was well worth it. The first week or so was hard trying to get timing with ecollar down. Ren also was responding better to obedience with my bf than me at first, which got frustrating. He is doing so good now and I feel a lot more comfortable in my role in all of this. Shaina has been so involved in life after board and train and so has Alicia. Alicia owns NEO pet right down the street from me and I’ve even stopped in there and have gotten some pointers and help on things we were struggling with. On our first follow up with Shania I learned how to do the long line obedience and recall with him and have now been able to incorporate that on my own when we go to a park. We just had our second follow up with Alicia and Ren did absolutely amazing! Up N Atom Dog Training isn’t just a business. Both Shania and Alicia truly care about you and your pup. It doesn’t just end after graduation, they truly want to see you be successful afterward. They are both so knowledgeable, personable, attentive…I would recommend them to anyone! To end, it is EXTREMELY important that you put in the work afterward and spend time on these practices with your pup everyday in order for them to continue being successful!

Shaina and her team are absolutely amazing! We have two Chow Chow puppies, and knowing how challenging the breed can be, we decided to commit to the puppy to adult board and train. It’s been an incredible experience—I honestly can’t imagine raising these pups without the help of the Up N Atom team. They don’t just teach basic commands like sit and stay—they prepare your dog for real-life situations. One of our pups, Nola, was born with eye issues and requires drops three times a day. Giving them to her used to be a total nightmare. After just one day with Shaina, it’s no longer an issue—it’s like a completely different dog. We’ve also started bringing them to Up N Atom for enrichment daycare. The added playtime and reinforcement of their training have been a huge plus. It’s a no-brainer to bring them here instead of anywhere else. Overall, this has been an amazing experience. If we could give more than 5 stars, we absolutely would

We are so thankful we found Shaina and Up n Atom Dog Training! We started sending our high-energy pointer puppy for board-and-train while we’re out of town, and also for enrichment daycare once a week—and we absolutely love it! Our pup is full of energy and needs a lot of structure, consistency, and attention, which can be a challenge. Shaina has been a total godsend! From leash walking manners to proper socialization with other dogs, to learning patience and impulse control—Shaina has helped our dog grow so much, all while making the process fun and positive. We especially appreciate that she really focuses on the fundamentals and builds a strong foundation for long-term success. And the best part? Our dog adores her and her team! She gets so excited every time she realizes we’re heading to Up n Atom—it’s the cutest thing. We highly recommend Up n Atom to anyone looking for training that’s effective, compassionate, and rooted in real understanding of dogs and their needs. We couldn’t be happier!

Shaina and this training have helped so immensely with my dog. He is a rambunctious 1 year old mix and at the beginning there were times I didn’t know if I’d be able to handle him. But Shaina made it possible. She was patient with me as I was learning, pushed me when I needed it, and her and my dog have a great relationship (he gets so excited when he sees her or gets to spend time with her). She makes it easy for beginners learning how to continue the skills she teaches with her videos specifically with your dog and she helps you have a great relationship with your dog. All throughout his board and train id get the cutest or funniest updates of him learning the skills or just having fun. Not only is my dog more confident and great, but my confidence with him has gone up and it truly wouldn’t have been possible without Shaina and training. Now he goes to the daycare/enrichment days while I work and I know he’s having fun but also still working on his skills. I feel comfortable knowing that he is supervised and getting to interact with other dogs and not just dumped into a room of chaos. I did the frisbee course with Up N Atom training- that was so much fun and a great way to do more things with my dog. I could not recommend this training more, if you’re looking for a trainer please pick Up N Atom!!!!

When we found Shaina, we were absolutely at our wit’s end. Our 9 month Boxer mix was completely out of control. He was aggressive and trying to even walk him was a nightmare. When she came to get him, after I put his leash on him, he literally burst through our front door and drug me across my front yard. I was beginning to worry he was going to bite someone, not to mention the chaos he caused in our home. So, I called her and she arranged to come assess him. She was very upfront that if she didn’t think she could help him, she would tell me. She came to our house, and within 10 minutes, she had him sitting quietly in his kennel. I couldn’t believe it!! So, we arranged for her to take him for 2 weeks. When she brought him back, he was a totally different dog. He was able to heel and I could walk him without being drug. His reactivity was much better, although he is still a puppy. Watching her interact with our dog, he was never afraid of her or acting like he was miserable. He was still a happy playful dog…only much better behaved. I had plans to send him back for another couple weeks, I was just waiting for it to fit into the budget, but my father was losing his battle with cancer and I had to leave the state with very little notice. I didn’t want to lose the ground we had gained so I called Shaina and asked if she could find a spot for him on short notice. She came to the rescue and found a place for him and finished his final 2 weeks of training. Shaina did such an amazing job with our dog and she brought peace to our house. Anyone who saw our dog before and then after is amazed at the difference in him. I literally can’t say enough good things about her.
