Up N Atom Dog Training and Daycare

We adopted a 5 month old malinois that was out of control, even considering his breed. We heard about Up N Atom through some social media contacts and decided to give board and train a try. It was life altering for both our little maligator and our family. Shaina completely transformed Kevin to an obedient, loving family member. Shaina's flexibility with drop off, pick ups and follow up training is unmatched. She also offers vacation boarding, which we will be taking advantage of very soon. Up N Atom Dog Training is one of the best training companies in the state of Ohio. The owner Shaina Zimmerman is a wonder to work with; she is very transparent while communicating with others. She will listen to the concerns that owners have regarding their dogs and she will be very honest about how she will train the dog to correct their behavior or whatever the concern is. She will always keep you updated on your dog by providing pictures and videos of their process and everything that they learn. I took my then 10 month old Golden Retriever named Tennessee to Shaina when he refused to listen to me when I would try to give him commands or get his attention, he would bite myself, my mother and also my moms small Pomeranian and just be a full on pain in the butt. Once Up N Atom took him in for 3 weeks of training I would receive updates about how Tennessee would learn all the basic commands such as sit and stay, go to his bed, walk on leash without pulling and more and he had no issues listening to Shaina. Once the 3 weeks were over Shaina met us at a park to do one on one training so I could learn everything that she taught my dog and I was amazed by what I was seeing because my Golden Retriever who I thought was an evil monster was a well behaved baby; It was like I had a completely different dog. It has been 3 months since we did training with Up N Atom and my Tennessee is still doing all of the commands that he learnt and still listens to me. I will always believe that Shaina is a god sent gift for dog owners who need help with training.

I first met Shaina about 8 years ago when I came to her thinking my 2.5 year old boxer mix was developing some aggressive behavior. Turns out my girl just needed some confidence and boundaries on appropriate behavior. Shaina was an invaluable resource to help me build and establish both. Four years ago I decided to make the leap into competitive dog sports, and Shaina has been a fantastic mentor and help with that endeavor. Very much an advocate for understanding and working with the animal in front of you vs a one size fits all approach to training, Shaina has helped me establish a stronger bond with all of my dogs. I have worked with Shaina to train both dogs that I have owned, and her help throughout the years has been invaluable. My current dog Leika is very different from my previous dog Ellie, whom Shaina also helped train. On top of being a very inexperienced owner, I was having a hard time being in tune with Leika and learning to work with her. Shaina is one of the most knowledgeable dog trainers in the country, and her compassionate, fair, dog-first approach is truly refreshing. She will tell you things how they are and respects the complexity of problems and thus the variety of solutions to be explored.
