My gsd puppy is 5 months and he has gone upstairs but will not go down them. This has been one of many obstacles im faced with on a daily basis. He is also biting Hard on my arms, legs, and bruises me. Is this fear anxiety?

I want to also say I have had someone come to the house who was a professional trainer,but she couldn't get him to go down. She suggested stair treads but i got them right away and now its three weeks later, still im stuck carrying him back down. He is heavy and im doing all i can to get him to walk down! HE IS A SMART DOG! His puppy biting doesnt seem innocent anymore its also getting way to hard for me to endure! I called last night but the office was closed. I am in tears because ive tried all other techniques out there and i am so patient and loving with my puppy,not to mention all the money put into my puppy to give him the best but i don't know what im doing wrong. He is arfraid to even go in a car for rides with me! Any help is appreciated! I love my dog and am desperate to get help!

Thomas, thank you for videos and they're really helping me train my 4 month old lab. Question: the Pat Nolan book from Dogtra has all behavior taught first with collar only then the voice command is added. You say connect collar to your voice. Help!

Our 5 year old Pomeranian is highly reactive and territorial. He attempts to bite family members and friends that come into the house. We reached out to UCA and we finally found a date that worked for us after about a year of trying. We could not have been happier with our experience. We did the 3 day intense training program with Tom. Tom is amazing and really cares about the dogs he trains. After one week of being home we have a completely new dog. UCA is not like other trainers/training companies we have tried. Tom simplified the training process for us and didn't give us hours and hours of homework that seems impossible to maintain. We have been sticking with his basic training tools and the transformation has been unreal! We had two workmen in our home the other day and Spike sat on the couch and just chilled out and watched the guys work. In the past he would have been barking and growling until they left. The two men went in and out of the house and Spike was not even phased. It blew us away!! We also have huge issues with him when he comes across other dogs on the street. Since we worked with Tom, he has been amazing on walks and doesn't even look at the other dogs walking by. Complete transformation!! Again, we highly recommend UCA! Thank you Tom and the entire UCA team!

Upstate Canine Academy is an amazing facility! When you walk in the door you a greeted by their friendly staff. Depending on your level of training you may be in one of the clean private training rooms, on the main floor, or involved in a "pack training". When you have a question, they have an answer. Zach has worked with my catahoula puppy right from the beginning of basics to e collar, to off leash. He has the knowledge for all breed types, and I was greatly appreciative of his understanding of my not your ordinary working dog. 100% recommend Zack and Upstate!
