Upstate Dog Academy

James came to our home in order to help train our 4 month old Newfie. James was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares that he is making a difference in the dog's and owner's lives. Within 1 hour, he taught us how to communicate better with our pup and we actually saw a difference in our pup's behavior within one hour. He is providing the tools and methods of communication but it is up to us to do our homework. We enjoy this method of training. I highly recommend Upstate Dog Academy!

James is a wonderful dog trainer, he has helped us work with our dog on trust and boundaries. He stayed with James for 2 weeks where they worked on trusting men, strangers and become more comfortable in new environments. We have used Upstate Dog Academy regularly for boarding, where we know our dog is well taken care of and gets time to be outside and play! I would definitely Recommend Upstate Dog Academy for any dog training / boarding needs!

James came to our house to train our newly adopted 70lb lab mix, Moo (he looks like a cow, he’s adorable). This is our first dog and we didn’t know how to control our new hyperactive best friend. James was great with the dog and it is obvious that he has a passion for what he does. He was also great at teaching, which was important for us as new owners. He taught us how to communicate with our dog effectively. Moo now knows several commands such as sit, down, come, heel, crate, and is learning place (to go to his bed). We still have practicing to do but now that we know how to work with Moo we can teach him anything needed in the future. James is a really nice guy, he was great with our teen, and worked with us with scheduling when we had an unexpected emergency. Go with Upstate Dog Academy, they are awesome!
