Urban Dawgs

We have 2 young children at home and our puppy is a larger breed dog than we had previously with our kids. I wanted to make sure I was creating a safe environment for both the kids and the puppy and found Drayton’s videos and content in class very helpful. I got a lot out of the classes, finding it easy to implement the techniques at home and that the techniques work. Drayton was available via text to troubleshoot and fine tune as we went along. The classes gave lots of opportunities for our puppy to play and for me to learn about puppy play, dos and don’ts of introductions, etc. I found puppy kindergarten to be comprehensive and above what I’ve gotten through other programs in the past with other dogs I’ve owned. We will be attending puppy intermediate to keep learning and to keep our puppy socializing in a controlled environment.

This is our second go around with Urban Dawgs. We aren't there for fun and to socialize as people. The fact is, it's about the dogs, not us. It's also about training us more than the dogs as they respond to what we ask and what we do if we are consistent and fulfill their needs. Drayton is a phenomenal trainer with a wealth of resources and information. He is responsive to questions with honest answers, even if they aren't what you want to hear--they are what he knows as best training practices from his many years of work. He's extremely passionate about his career. Just as with any habits, if you do them consistently and correctly, you'll have success and have a peaceful, beautifully behaved dog. If you don't, you won't. Simple. Highly recommend Urban Dawgs.

He’s not even worth the one star I had to give him. From the moment we arrived he was throwing orders from outside our car. It started with where we parked our car to the collar our dog was wearing. Negativity at its worst! Instead of speaking to us with respect and kindness he was demanding us on how we needed to proceed. Our session began with a walk around his business with another dog provided by his assistant. Absolutely pointless, he was trying to continuously feed our dog treats, since my dog refused the treats he began diagnosing him with liver or kidney disease!! Our 3 year old golden retriever was extremely nervous and sensed his abruptness. When we retuned to his facility he did nothing but berate us as we asked questions and continued to throw treats at our dog. He continued throwing treats and talked about him being overweight and unusually scared. Well the reason we brought him was to get advice on how to get him to be a little more independent. We lasted 30 minutes instead of the hour that we paid $200 for! This man should definitely not be training anyone or giving advice on behavior!! He himself needs to be trained!! Do Not waste your money or time

I grew up with shepherds and have been involved with search and rescue and military training. We got our new puppy and know the importance of socialization, specially for a GSD. Well…we just got kicked out of class because we asked them to not treat him for jumping on the gate. They literally threw treats ALL over the place, even hitting us with them. The pictures are of his throw up after each class, because he had too many. Don’t go here. Petsmart has puppy classes, go there. Drayton you need help.

DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED DOG HERE!!! Drayton uses treat driven methods, and memorized 4 key concepts which are not helpful. He LOVES to hear his voice and doesn’t care what your needs are as a client. He will throw THOUSANDS of treats at not only your dog, but also you, the owner. TREATS SHOULD BE LIMITED, but he throws so much out boy puked. He will say yes, good boy when your dog jumps on the fence to reward him for every single thing he/she does. Our puppy has thrown up those disgusting treats every time. Today, we were kicked out of the rest of classes because he claims he RECORDED my husband and I without consent, and claims we were rude, because I told them to stop rewarding our puppy every time he jumped. (We had already decided to take ourselves out of the class prior to him telling us he recorded us and wanted us out). READ the reviews, he’s kicked out a lot of folks. I think he has no talent, and that this is a scam. Save your $300 and go to PetSmart where the puppies can actually play. You are not allowed to talk to other owners either. BUYERS BEWARE.
