Just like training with Cesar Milan. Lynetta has that special and unique ability to communicate with dogs. She understands dog manurisms and behavior. Half of the training is teaching dog owners the proper techniques of obedience training. We were initially skeptical of the "choke (training)" collars as well. After obedience training 1 we have learned how to successfully use the "choke" collar as a training collar. The training collar is used to make small corrections and directions - it is not used to choke or harm. Pressure should always be released quickly. Dogs quickly learn to heel and to walk with a loose lead using Lynetta's methods. It's a very rewarding feeling to have your dog walk calmly by your side. Our dogs and us have leaned a lot and it is beautiful thing to have true connection with our dogs. One of our dog started showing leash aggression which made us to start to take training class. Now he listens better and no more leash aggression (amazing!). Even I got compliment his behavior when I was at ATM (my dog was sitting calmly right next to me whole time which he had never done before). I highly recommend taking Lynette's classes. And their price is very reasonable.

Good service and descent dog education opportunity. They teach OLD school with choke collars and yanking to sit, yank down for dog to go down, etc., and insisting that dog always be on left side of handler. Although I do not agree with those methods and have been to other dog training facilities that do not use these methods or requirements, the basic information for the CGC class was helpful overall. If you are fine with the above handling techniques taught, then you will be pleased with their services.

I have been taking my dog Barny to Doggie Daycare at Valley View Canine for three years. Barny is always happy to go and has lots of fun there per the report cards he gets. I was having a conversation with Lynette the owner and trainer about some of Barny’s behavior, pulling on walks, barking & whining when he sees other dogs. I wanted to enjoy a walk with my dog and the way he behaved it was not enjoyable. Lynette suggested the Obedience I class. She said the class would teach us how to change those behaviors and make walks enjoyable. So this last March we enrolled in the 6 week class. I was very impressed with how much Barny learned and me too! He took 1st place in his class and received a blue ribbon and certificate. Lynette always had great suggestions if I was having a problem with Barny in his training. She is very positive and has tons of knowledge about dogs and truly cares about them as well. Karen

I am on my second GSD with Valley View Canine. The first one went through OB-III classes and a couple of agility classes for fun. He also attended daycare 1 day per week. He was at Valley View his entire 11+ years. Now I am starting over with a new pup who has taken puppy preschool and OB -I. He is also going to day care 3 days a week and play hours once or twice a month. He drags me inside, he is so excited to participate. I have taken other dogs to other obedience schools. One used negative behavior - actually hitting the dogs(or using the choke collar to choke them) - to get them to obey. The other used food rewards. I suppose that's great, if you carry a fanny pack with cut-up hot dogs all the time and don't mind greasy fingers. The use of the training collar is not to choke the dog - a quick jerk and release is used - Lynette and staff stress this. And this collar is only used when working with the dog in class or practicing at home. The staff learns each dog's names and behaviors quickly. They honestly seem to love their work with them. I highly recommend VVC to anyone who asks or anyone I know who has a new puppy or new dog.
