Long story short: The value of training and support you'll receive with Bethany is incomparable. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a dog trainer choose Walking Dog Training for an enjoyable experience and outstanding training tailored to each dog/owner. Long story: I don't know if I can put into words how much I love this person/place, but I will certainly try. I reached out to Bethany of Walking Dog Training last year when I had all but given up hope that my dog would ever be a civil 4 legged member of our world. I was completely transparent on my contact form and noted all of the trouble areas I've been experiencing with my dog, Otis, in the 8 years I've had him; he knew basic obedience and a few tricks, but was dog reactive, an absolute monster on the leash, a ping pong ball in the car, whiny, etc, etc. With this laundry list of issues I was prepared for a less than enthusiastic response from any potential trainer, but I wasn't prepared for Bethany's response: 'he sounds like a perfect candidate for my program!' Otis went to a 3 week board and train program with Bethany and came back a much, much better version of himself. She worked with him on all of the areas that I had noted needed work, and he improved significantly in all. I joined Bethany for two sessions during his stay with her where she went over the things she'd been working on with him to make sure I'd know how to reinforce these new behaviors when he came home, and to ensure I was comfortable with my new role in Otis' life. When it came time to bring him home, we had another session to review everything, practice with me as the handler and her there for support and feedback, and to answer any possible question I had. I went home confident that Bethany had given Otis and me all of the tools we needed to succeed and to continue our progress. My favorite part of all is the continued support we receive from Bethany. Obviously, it's up to us as owners to continue reinforcing everything our dogs learned while with Bethany if we expect them to continue to behave as they did while there, and having Bethany as a resource even now has been one of the things I've appreciated most about choosing her as my trainer. She's been just as involved in Otis' progress since I've taken him home as she was when he was at her house. She's always willing to answer questions, listen to my frustration on something that didn't go 'right' with Otis and offer suggestions on how to approach it next time, and meet up with us to help provide guidance/support while we work through something, or to just check in and catch up. I fully recommend Walking Dog Training to anyone considering a trainer to help with your dog, regardless of your dogs level or what they need work on. Bethany has proven that she cares about your goals as the owner and will tailor her training to fit the needs of each owner and dog while still producing exceptional results and arming owners with the tools and knowledge to keep it up after their dogs go home.

We needed to seek out a balanced, calm, soft spoken trainer for our anxious rescue and Bethany is just that! Everything about her is genuine, easy-going, and knowledge-based. She has helped our pup and us so much to be less anxious on walks, in the home, and in the car. We knew structure was needed but didn't know what kind - Bethany gave us all the tools to continue the training at home. Our girl is a joy to be around and is visibly less anxious in most settings. Bethany with Walking Dog Training was exactly the training we needed. Our Lab Ellie was a typical puppy with no boundaries and absolutely no guidance and having two weeks of training with Bethany completely turned her around and made her into a dog that we can take to work and on weekend outings like we always have wanted.
