Walking Dog Training

I randomly found Bethany on IG and connected with her and her content immediately. The information was like the most addictive candy or food you’ve ever eaten! It was exactly what I was looking for, an answer for the struggles we were having outside of our year and a half start with Vito and only using positive reinforcement. What I realized is I needed, we needed, a balanced approach and that is exactly what Bethany gave us. As soon as her contact was released as hard copies I scooped them up and promptly purchased the prong collar and e collar as she uses throughout her content. We also did one of her IG monthly challenges with “Place” work over the month of December. Between slowly incorporating the prong collar and e collar AND place work on the side, Vito is a changed little man and it’s given us confidence in negotiating some of the tough spots positive reinforcement wasn’t touching. I can’t recommend Bethany and her context enough, she has given us tools to strengthen our relationship with Vito, set very clear boundaries and overall has given Vito confidence and shown him what HE is capable of doing. I knew getting a dog was more than just giving it love, and meeting it's daily food/water/walking needs. I wanted to train my dog to be best of my ability, but didn't know where to start. She had mild excitement reactivity when going on walks so I knew that was something that needed to be tackled. I wanted to be able to hike with her off leash know know she was reliable to recall back to me. I wanted to teach her how to be calm and ensure I was setting her up for success with the right mindset. This is where @thewalkingdogtraining came in. Her resources were so useful. Her ebooks, her stories, her posts, her lives. I learnt so much from all of the content she shared. Not only did it help me train my dog, it helped me build a stronger relationship with her. I knew Beth was there for me every step of the way. I highly recommend hiring her, purchasing her e-books or just simply watching her stories and reading her posts. You will learn so much! Walkingdogtraining is hands down one of the BEST trainers. She is very calm and so so positive. If you follow her, she literally is a free therapist LOL. My dog has no reactivity, is very balanced, but has always have had trouble with walking. I tried everything. He is a gsd so after hours of mental and physical stimulation, the outdoors would be SO exciting that he would start dragging us everywhere. Totally tried ff before and I am very calm and collected as a person, so it was way more than my energy. It was moreso having no consequence. Due to this, my dad could never walk him and we would try avoiding outdoor places as we didn’t wanna leave him back. Not only was this issue affecting our family life, it took a big toll on my mental health as I felt like I was not being a good owner. We tried everything and built up step by step. The slip lead was definitely better than a flat collar, however, still not enough. Completely FF didn’t work for us and that’s okay. My dog was suffering and would choke all the time. My friend recommended walking dog training’s ecollar guide and I was very hesitant recently. However, I can swear by my life this is the BEST guide ever. The schedule is literally self-paced and there are levels you graduate from. The book first encourages using the ecollar on yourself before your dog and I did! How can I use something on my dog that I have been always told would hurt, damage and zap him? I had to break down these preconceptions by using them on myself! I was totally fine and it was not painful or scary. I am not my dog however, so it took me 4 weeks to fully transition and get my dog accustomed to this new tool. Since then, it has been LIFE-CHANGING for us. He understands what I expect. He sniffs alot still, however he has leash manners! An offleash dog randomly ran up to us and was super reactive, my only job there was to protect my dog from the dog that came up as my dog was calmly handling this situation. I am not frustrated or stressed anymore about my capability of being a dog owner. Did I mention that walking dog always responds to your messages and updates?????? Who does that lol with such a big following. Anyways she is amazing. Some people who have NO background regarding her work and have been brainwashed by extremists from the dog world have been leaving bad reviews on this page, but who would YOU trust? Hopefully, it is someone who has worked with walking dog’s stuff and has left an honest update on here 🫶🏻
