Ray is simply outstanding. He trained my Golden Retriever Rimi who is on the cover of the December January issue of Garden and Gun Magazine. Everyone comments on how well trained she is. She received her Jr. Hunter at 1 year of age and could have easily gone on to master. She is a terrific hunter - Duck, Pheasant, and Dove and also a great family dog. Ray also worked with my wife on walking and working with Rimi and that made a huge difference. My wife walks her with no tension on the lead and could even walk her with no lead at all on her 3 mile walks. My daughter took her on the photo shoot for the magazine and worked her from 7am - 7pm with no issues ,just continuous compliments. Finally, she will work for and respond to commands from other hunters if I am busy with decoys or other items. Ray knows dogs and loves dogs. When I take Rimi back for tuneups before the season she runs to him and has no issue staying. I have no reservations about giving Ray and Webfoot Retrievers my highest recommendation.

We were at wits end with our Boykin Spaniel puppy, Sampson, and weren’t sure that he was going to be a good fit with our family. After numerous failed attempts to find a way to manage his energy and strong spirit, we met some of Ray’s past clients at a cocktail party. They could not say enough great things about what Ray had done for their dogs. We contacted Ray and off Sampson went to “bootcamp” as I like to call it. Sampson spent three months at Webfoot Retrievers kennel. The change in him has been miraculous. Not only is he a great hunting companion for my husband, but more importantly he is a great, well-mannered pet. I am able to walk him off leash in the neighborhood on his collar and use voice commands and he is a dream. Ray is more than a dog trainer to us, he has become our friend. This past year we had a trip to the emergency vet with Sampson and were told that he had an extremely rare autoimmune disorder that would result in early death. Ray asked a lot of questions and consulted us on things to look for in Sampson’s behavior and things to try. After lots of back and forth, with Ray calling and speaking to the vet himself, he thought that the diagnosis just didn’t add up. He urged us to go see a vet that he thought very highly of and we did. This vet immediately diagnosed Sampson with an abscess in his mouth and after a fairly easy surgery, he was good as new. If we would have listened to the original diagnosis and not had Ray to help us through it, the medication they wanted to give Sampson could have killed him since he did not have the condition they originally thought. Ray is the best. His knowledge of dogs, their temperament and even health issues gives him the ability to help the owners care for them better and in turn have a great pet experience. Any dog that we have in the future will be part of Ray’s canine family.

Ray is unbelievable with his dogs. I visited 5 different trainers before I decided go with Ray. What really sold me on him was his connection with Gunner (my golden retriever) and how he interacted with the dogs at his training grounds. When I first dropped gunner off with ray he was terrified of the birds and I was sure that he would never retrieve a bird. After 3 months gunner was retrieving doubles, walk-ups diversions, had mastered his force fetch, was heeling on command, and his basic behavior was unrecognizable from the puppy I dropped off day one. The biggest thing for me was that Ray taught me how to communicate with my dog. It sounds crazy but I feel like after his training Gunner and I spoke the same language and I could read what he was going to do before he even acted. I have nothing but great things to say about Ray and Webfoot Retrievers. Best money I ever spent! It will transform your dog!!

We took our 11 year old son's 3 month old lab, Gauge to Webfoot Retrievers for obedience and retrieving training. He was there for about 6 months. Although it seemed like forever to our son, the results were worth the wait. We would visit Gauge or take him home with us just about every other weekend. One of the things that made it easy to leave him after each visit, was seeing how happy he was with Ray. The group retrieving training sessions were invaluable. Our entire family learned so much from Ray about how to handle dogs properly. He has such a way, not only with dogs, but with their owners as well. Ray's knowledge of dogs and their behavior is incredible. One of the greatest things about our entire experience was the time Ray took to really teach our son about his dog. Both of our boys have the utmost repect for Ray and learned so much from him. He went out of his way to always make them feel comfortable and love what they were learning. We are now the proud owners of the best dogs we have ever owned. Gauge is not only wonderful in the field, but at 100 pounds and 10 months old, he is extremely obedient. We could not have gotten these results without Ray. I would (and have) highly recommend him to anyone looking for a compassionate trainer that achieves outstanding results!!
