Took my 7.5 month old puppy to see Nancy today. Could not be more pleased with how the training session went. Nancy makes very efficient use of the time of the session giving you the tools you need to work on training your dog the CORRECT way, as I was relying on information that I found on the internet from what I THOUGHT was reliable, but was not. My pup was struggling with being fearful, jumping at the door/on visitors, pulling on the leash, lack of attentiveness to me and general commands and behavioral issues. Nancy not only was helpful during the session but sent us home with many materials to read and resources to learn more to continue our training as well as homework to keep up what she taught me. It has not even been 12 hours since our session and I can already see a difference in being able to handle my dog better and am feeling incredibly hopeful for days to come as she gets increasingly better with these new tools we have learned! I had a rescue that had severe anxiety issues. I took him on because I have a quiet home and the time to spend on him. When it became apparent that his issues were beyond my skills, I approached Nancy to get some help. Nancy helped me in several ways. First, she identified the items that were triggers for him. Second, we arrived at a plan for working on these issues. And last, we arrived at intermediate solutions that would help me in the short-term while we worked towards the long term solution. Yes, the dog had issues, but I had issues, too, in how I reacted to them. So, over a period of months, we worked on my over-reactions to his issues, and found calming methods for working with him. In the meantime, I changed from using a leash to a harness, which reassured ME that he would not panic and get run over by a car. If anyone (Cesar Milan) tells you that behavior issues can be fixed by a snap of the fingers, run! Nancy is the real deal. She loves animals and wants to see them happy, even if that means treating the person at the other end of the leash. If you feel that you have a pet with behavior issues, please call Nancy. You can trust what she says.

I went to see Nancy with my dog, who had two aggressive incidents. I wanted to find out what the triggers for his aggressive behavior were, and to learn how to correct his behavior. I spent 2 1/2 hours during our session, watching Nancy doing things purposely that would entice an aggressive response. My assumption was that she wanted to find his triggers so that we could work on retraining his frame of mind around those. It turns out that, instead, after our session was over, she labelled him as dangerous and aggressive and said he should never be in public without a muzzle or off-lead. I can accept that if I truly thought any of that was true. But she also said this can never be corrected and he would always be a danger because he's too unpredictable. I feel like she set my dog up, bringing out his aggression purposely and then labeling him. I have since taken my dog to another behaviorist. This session was night and day different than the one with Nancy. The trainer took my dog immediately to handle him herself and, unlike Nancy, did not show any fear of him (the second trainer wears protective clothing while assessing all dogs coming in for aggression issues). She was able to assess, in the first 5 minutes, that my dog is guarding his right side where he had surgery a year ago, and where he may still feel discomfort. She recommended pain management as well as counter-conditioning to get him used to people being on that side of him as a positive interaction. She also feels confident that his behavior is absolutely predictable and taught me the signs to look for (his body language) as well as what to do when I see those signs. I was so upset after my visit with Nancy because her assessment of my dog was so wildly incompatible with the dog that I knew. For someone who claims to be an expert with aggressive dogs, I truly worry how many dogs she has labelled inaccurately.
