Woodland Kennel

We absolutely adore Woodland Kennels! My husband and I got our English Springer Spaniel from them and he is the best dog we could have ever asked for! He has a great temperament, was so easily trained, and was the perfect addition to our family. Geoff provided basic training when he was a puppy and boarding for us when we needed it, and we always knew our sweet boy was in good hands when we dropped him off. I highly recommend Woodland Kennels to anyone considering! Whether it’s for hunting purposes or just for a family dog. They are truly the best!

Lightening Strikes Twice Four years ago our family was in search of a Labrador Retriever that didn't come from the rampant "puppy mills" found in the corners of every state in the Country. We have all heard the horror stories associated with puppies coming from those places, ranging from poor health and temperament issues to questionable breeding methods. All we wanted was a good family dog with a solid and verifiable background from a reputable breeder. Too much to ask for we were told, until lightening struck for the first time. A friend with an extensive background in military and law enforcement canine training, advised us to take a look at Woodland Kennels in Oxford, CT. After reading all that their website had to offer we next began viewing the plethora of videos available on YouTube that further detailed the owners passion and commitment to breeding, raising, and training incredible lines of Labrador Retrievers and English Springer Spaniels. We reached out to Geoffrey and Dana English, the owners of Woodland Kennels and were informed they had a litter on the ground. After speaking for awhile we arranged to go out, select, and take home our new pup. We truly didn't realize until we got home just how special our new addition was. Geoff and Dana begin working with the pups very early on and the lines they breed are incredibly intelligent. We found our pup was eager to learn, loved playing outdoors, and began instinctively tracking almost immediately. She instantly became, and remains, a beloved member of our family. Too good to be true? No, it actually gets better. This past month we decided to get another Lab pup from Geoffrey and Dana. To have had the same or similar experience would have been amazing but instead, lightening struck twice. Geoff and Dana provided us with a link to Woodland Kennels - Housebreaking Your Puppy. It is a highly detailed breakdown to housebreaking your puppy quickly. We found the course immensely informative, covering such topics as; training before eating, physically documenting the pee and poop schedule, front loading water to cut back on bathroom trips outside over night, etc. The lessons are delivered in a clear and concise manner that make it very easy to understand and follow. This series has been a game changer for us. It allowed us to give our pup all the tools to succeed in housebreaking in a non-stressful manner.
