Woof Works Training

So grateful we found Mike + the Woof Works team! We came to Mike a little over a year ago with our EXTREMELY fearful and anxious rescue puppy, Ellie, who was neither food or toy motivated. Mike showed incredible patience and invested hours in gaining trust with our girl to make training successful. All the while he was really training us, two first time dog owners, on how to show up best for our dog and her unique needs. We had weekly sessions for a while and now visit every few weeks or so for a skills brush up. We did a couple 1/2 day sessions early on that really jump started our progress. Ellie has come SO far it's incredible. She is no longer a trembling, nervous wreck, and has gained so much confidence she's almost unrecognizable. She's still a little slow to trust new places/people, but we now have the skills to help her through it. I know we would not have the same dog today if it weren't for Mike and his team and I am forever grateful that we found him. I would recommend Woof Works to anyone with a dog needing support of any kind. Many thanks to Mike, and his wonderful dogs, Aggie and Annie, who also played a role in Ellie's success story. Mike introduced his own dogs in training to help Ellie curb her reactivity and also to reward her with play at the end of sessions. A true dream team! Thank you Woof Works!

I have known Mike for many many years, and knew if I ever got a dog that I wanted him to train it. His dog at the time was so well trained and just a lovely girl. His natural ability of working with dogs was easy to see. I recently adopted Rolo, a siberian husky and was told adult huskies are untrainable. Not knowing Mike had gone professional, I reached out to his wife to share the news about Rolo. She told me he opened up a professional dog training business and it was a no brainer, just a matter of when I can come up from NJ for enough time to make it count. Recently, Rolo and I spent 7 days with Mike, and I Iearned how to work with my energetic, active husky and make walks more enjoyable. I learned about the proper use of prong collars which I was skeptical about and slowly starting to work with them. Mike takes the time to learn about your dog and figure out the methods that work best for you and your dog. Rolo responded to him immediately, and learned new techniques quickly which helped strengthen my bond with him. Our first walk back home has greatly improved since before the training started and I am excited to implement what I have learned and keep working with my dog. No dog is untrainable, you just need the right person for the job and Mike Armstrong is def the right person. We will be back for more follow up training.
