Val has a wealth of knowledge, is a great teacher and is invested in helping both the handler and dog succeed. I was looking for something to keep my dog busy and not destructive. We have been attending scent classes and have learned so much each session. I am amazed at her ability to read and interact with each team individually, I know very little about detection. Each class has been not only a learning experience for detection but also reading and communicating with my dog. She is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone!

From the moment we met Valentina, you could feel the love and respect that she has for animals along with the knowledge and professionalism that she has for her craft. She is very attentive to details and knows just the right approach to take for training several breeds of dogs. We signed on for the 5 week boarding and training for our almost 6 year old French Bulldog Bruno. He is very loving to his family, but could not handle the stimulus of the outside world with kids, adults or other unknown dogs. He was unapproachable and had a few close calls with kids and other dogs. He was not trusting and would eventually growl or nip towards others. Because of this, we never felt comfortable enough to walk around the neighborhood with him in fear we might have a bad confrontation. He was only allowed in our fenced backyard. We finally decided to get help as we just didn’t want any close calls with family or friends and wanted Bruno to be able to visit parks and expand his world. This is when we stumbled upon to X Learning K9s. Valentina had a 2 hour consult with us and Bruno prior to boarding. She gave us a detailed plan on how she would work on correcting his behavior and then gave us a tour of the area where Bruno would be staying. She provided a very safe and comfortable space with soothing background sounds and soft lighting. I had no doubt that she would take special care of Bruno. Valentina also provided details on what we were doing that unintentionally reinforced the bad behaviors. This helped us understand what we needed to change and also to prepare us for home training afterwards so Bruno didn’t slip back into his old routines once he completed the 5 week training. Valentina provided updates to us with pictures on Bruno’s progress throughout the program. This helped us and our kids a lot as we missed him very much over those 5 weeks. The transformation that she was able to do with Bruno was amazing. He went from an antisocial anxious dog that would growl, bite or cry when he didn’t get his way, to well behaved dog that could socialize around people and pets without being over stimulated! I was just able to walk him for 25 minutes today in a new part of our neighborhood and walk past a small child sprinting to the mail box, dogs barking along the fence, neighbors jogging on the sidewalk and teenagers playing soccer in their front yard with barely a look! He made a subtle cry to the teenagers as we walked by, but all it took was a slight double tap on the leash and Bruno regained his focus and trotted along his way. That earned him a “jackpot” of treats as Valentina would say! We are forever grateful for the work Valentina did. Now both Bruno and our family can enjoy outdoor events all together!

Valentina is an amazing trainer! I cannot recommend her highly enough! In just a short period, she worked wonders with Walt, my 8-month-old Leonberger. Training a pup of his size and energy is no small feat, but her expertise shined through in every session. She treated Walt with utmost care and precision during his training to become my service dog. Her dedication, patience, and genuine passion for their work is evident. Thanks to her, Walt is not only obedient but also instilled with the temperament and skills needed for service. If you're looking for top-notch training, this is the place to go!

This is the best dog trainer around. I have used several and nobody comes close to the skill and dedication that she shows. I left my boy for a week and when I went to pick him up, he wasn't just trying to lead me to the door. He was happy and I could tell that he enjoyed staying with her. Not only did he learn what I wanted him to learn, but he was taught more. He was skittish around new people when I took him. I brought him up to Bear Lake shortly after, expecting him to be nervous and bark at the other people around. He didn't. He was just happy to be out and about. I highly suggest using X Learning K9's for your dog training. It's money well spent. I'll be taking my boy back to her for scent training when I can.

We recently entrusted our almost 3 year old husky/malamute, Atlas, to X Learning K9s for a 3 week board and train. We know we made the right decision! Atlas struggles with leash reactivity and a super short attention span. Valentina's efforts really went above and beyond, and have allowed us to enjoy spending time with our dog again! Not only has training with her allowed us to cultivate pleasant walks with our boy, but we are now laying the groundwork for off leash adventures as well! We have been to several trainers since we got Atlas as an 8 week old puppy, and none of them have been as helpful or straightforward with us as Valentina has been.
