Zoom Room Dog Training

Gumbo is somewhat locally famous for being the longest resident at LBACS (2 years). He was labeled dog selective and it was suggested he be an only dog. After adopting Gumbo and getting him acclimated to his new environment, I wanted to break his bad habit of leash pulling and reduce his reactivity to certain dogs. Though he qualified immediately for group classes, I put him in private lessons to see if he was just putting on a good show for the trainers. Gumbo went through 5 one-on-one sessions with all of the different trainers. ALL of the staff were patient, kind, and encouraging, but still corrected me if we were not meeting a goal. Turns out, it's really the owner that needs more of the training; not the dog. Gumbo is now in obedience classes and we are focusing on not fighting mom when we see a delicious treat on the sidewalk. He is a big fan of some of the obstacles too as we don't have some of the fun play equipment at home. The Zoom Room is always impeccably clean, which surprised me. My only 'complaint' is that the jars of lambs ears and other delicious dog treats are near the ground and they are not movable. Gumbo is immediately strategizing how to get one the moment we walk in the door.

I can’t recommend this dog training school enough! The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely care about both the dogs and their owners. They take the time to understand each dog’s personality and tailor their approach, which made such a difference for us. The class schedules are also very convenient, making it easy to stay consistent without disrupting our routine. Every session feels well-organized and productive, and you can really see the progress week after week. I have seen a difference in my dog’s behavior since joining these amazing classes!
